    1. This book is really little more than an ego-fueled political rant by a comedian, and consequently it is very unevenly written and occasionally insufferable. Large portions of it are nigh-unreadable in 2012, either because Shearer gets distracted by his own ego mid-sentence, or because we know now that he's just plain wrong about certain minor pronouncements (especially those regarding OJ Simpson).
