    1. This is not a book for the timid. I imagine at least half of it's readers will quickly decide travel writing isn't for them and isn't what they expected. Author Tim Leffel holds no punches when he breaks down the road blocks and obstacles many freelance writers will encounter on their(hopeful)way to successd that doesn't include help with things such as grammar or writer's block. He does offer many resources and examples to help the struggling travel writer get their foot in the door but it also [...]

    2. This book is truly a great resource when you think about starting out as a travel writer. You will not learn how to write better. You will get to see the business part of being a travel writer. Tim covers well the transition between the print world and the new media world (2.0). He shows you what it takes to be successful in this field, how to start out and gives you a hint whether you are the right person for this. If you think about becoming a travel writer, read this book. If you just look fo [...]

    3. Don't expect a classical guide about how to write, but rather a good guidance about how to turn into a successful travel writer. It is not enough to travel a lot for becoming a travel writer, but you never need to stop writing if you want to be considered a top notch writer. Plus, you need to invest in your training and in a good looking site. Never stop learning and use the right resources and you will get to the top one day.

    4. In this book, Tim covers travel writing in a digital age, the 104 faces of a travel writer, traditional and digital opportunities for travel writers, the craft of travel writing, self-promotion, social media (yes, the two are different), and more - and brings the collective wisdom of travel writers to bring you their perspectives on these topics, as well (including yours truly). It's well worth reading, and digesting, and re-reading. There is much here to savor, learn from, and use to improve yo [...]

    5. A good introduction to new media and travel writing with some excellent tips inside. Well worth a read for anyone wanting a starting point. If you are already in online it probably won't be new to you.
