  1. The author was a client of mine when I lived and worked in Chicago. A writer for the Chicago Tribune, he also wrote some plays and operated one of the funkiest and finest used book stores on anything to do with Chicago I've ever come across. Because Heise is a writer himself, many pages of this work are about other writers whose influence extended beyond the midwest and our national borders.
