    1. I stumbled across this fantastic book on my own Kindle when looking for books for my kids who were studying Switzerland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. I must have gotten it for free at some point. It is also available as a paperback. This book could not have been more perfect for our studies!     2. I'm a big fan of cookbooks combined with travelogues, books where you learn a bit about the country in addition to recipes. In addition, my family is German and I was very happy because several of these recipes helped me recreate dishes my mother used to make. The recipes themselves were straight-forward and seemed authentic.
