    1. Engaging and original children’s fantasy, atmospheric and pleasurably chilling, with a strong sense of place. I liked the malevolent character of Hafren (the spirit of the River Severn) and the sheer imaginativeness of the storyline. I was delighted to discover this author and will be looking out for more of her books.

    2. A tense supernatural thriller set in the rainy backdrop of a South Wales I know quite well, I found this to be an absorbing story about the fight for one man's soul held in the nearly wick of a candle.
