    1. Quite the Thriller. I really enjoyed this edition of Lucy Kincaid and eventually her sister in law Special Agent Kate helping some targeted prostitutes. I am still a little fuzzy about the whole Senator involvement but that is probably because I find this author's weakest link is in her portrayal of the many male characters in her novels. In one scene they are generous with their praise and encouragement where Lucy is concerned and in the next they are treating her like she is a five yr old. The [...]

    2. I'm rating this 3.5 out of 5. This is the first book I've read by Allison Brennan and I enjoyed it. Having not read the first three books in this series, I'm sure I missed some nuances of the characters and their relationships with each other but I don't feel like I missed anything important. I was able to get the gist of the past three books: Lucy was kidnapped and raped seven years agoe is insecure, distrusting, and suffers from panic attacks because of that experienceher dream is to be a FBI [...]

    3. SILENCED (pub. 2012) by Allison Brennan is a detective thriller, and part of the Lucy Kincaid series. The opening prologue is what made me have to buy this book. It's a great example of how to make a person want to turn the page.I wish the author had continued to give us a longer glimpse of the time period/action within the prologue, because for me, it was the best part of the book. The writing is strong but the 'voice' of the writer doesn't come through for me on this one as it has in other Bren [...]

    4. Allison Brennan's Lucy Kincaid series is fabulous. It has the salaciousness of Law and Order: SVU, with a whole lot of action and suspense thrown in, with some romance. And unlike most romantic suspense novels, the relationship is not a one-off, the series follows Lucy Kincaid and her PI boyfriend Sean Rogan, so we get to see the relationship develop over, so far, four books, with more to be read. And perhaps my favorite thing about this series? Lucy Kincaid was a victim in one of Brennan's earl [...]

    5. *Genre* Mystery, Romance*Rating* 3.0*Review*For the past two months, or since the end of If I Should Die, Lucy has been working as an analysis for the FBI's sex crimes division. Lucy is in a state of limbo while waiting for her turn to enter the FBI Academy at Quantico. Technically she’s not an agent, nor is she a civilian. Thanks to FBI Agent Noah Armstrong, who is her mentor and training agent, Lucy once again ends up deep in a case that can cause her major problems within the FBI itself. The [...]

    6. I really like the direction this series is taking. Allison Brennan seems to always pick interesting topics to use in her books. This time, it's political sex scandals and televangelists, and either one would have been enough to interest me. I'm pretty fond of all the characters, and this book continues the series' history of introducing good new characters and keeping older minor ones around. The romance element is still there, but there's absolutely no relationship drama, which was a really wel [...]

    7. 3.5/5 - I overall liked this one, the pace really picked up as the story went along and the suspense was well done and had me trying to put all the clues together with the characters. One aspect of the Lucy Kincaid series that I absolutely love is her relationship with Sean - that's lacking in this book. In fact, this is a straight up suspense story, very little romance. I've always loved how Sean is Lucy's rock, after her horrific past, he's the safe place for her so she can actually be herself [...]

    8. I read a lot in this genre and expect some romance; a flawed main character with a troubled past; conspiracy theory anti-politician undertones; etc. I do read some of the lighter crime fiction authors like Janet Evanovich and even some Nora Roberts. But this was just awful. Plot? Fairly complex and well thought out. But the main character was whiny and immature; the writing was sub-par, and all the characters except the main one were barely developed. The book had no pervasive mood or feeling; i [...]

    9. I could hardly finish the book It wasn't fast-paced I have been reading the book for quite a while I tried to prolong reading it in the sense that I would enjoy—but to no avail I skipped too many pages I tried my best to like the book— to connect with the characters but I am sorry I couldn't. The book looked good, had a good storyline too if only it had worked!

    10. Pretty fair story but this book loses one star because it is filled with too much angst and too many "be still my beating heart" moments. Brennan has improved as a writer but she still puts too much nonsensical romance in what should be a thriller. Don't get me wrong, I like some romance for the characters, but how many times can I read "Sean is my rock" without wanting to take a rock to him.

    11. This started out a little bizarre for me. I was beginning to wonder if it really was a Lucy Kincaid book. But in the end it turned out to be ok, I wouldn't say my favorite though.

    12. Pretty good book. I haven't read others in the series and this one stands alone. It gives a hint of things that happened in previous books, but probably not enough to make me rush out and buy them. I will probably read this entire series in time. Characters are good and it wasn't an easy one to figure out.

    13. Good readLucy continues to overcome the obstacles of her past. This was a great read for sure. It was actually the first book I read I the series. It made me go back to the beginning.

    14. I'm glad I came back to this series. Lucy and Sean tend to get a little over dramatic for me at times but Allison Brennan knows how to tell a great, compelling story.

    15. I've read all the books in this series so far. The mysteries and action are decent, but I just don't like the characters- particularly Lucy and Sean. As a student/trainee, Lucy has more insight and instincts than seasoned FBI agents. This just does not make her a believable character. Sean is a hot-headed baby always on the verge of a temper tantrum. This is the last "Lucy Kincaid" book for me.

    16. Another great, edge-of-my-seat story from Allison Brennan. She knows how to write a riveting story that's for sure. ~~~~~~From :Lucy Kincaid is back--with a vengeance. A Washington Sex ScandalIt has been seven years since Lucy was attacked--and almost killed--by an online predator. Today, she is well on her way toward a new life. While waiting to begin her training at the FBI Academy, Lucy's is tireless in her fight against cyber sex crime. Her current mission: to find out who killed a high-pric [...]

    17. I recently reviewed the book 'Love Me to Death' by Allison Brennan. I liked it so much so I threw myself over the rest of the books in the series (Kiss Me Kill Me, If I Should Die, Silenced, Stalked, Reckless and Stolen). The books are just soooo good I can't stop reading. The stories are absolutely fantastic, so thrilling with many different layers and I can't remember when I read such suspense novels last. Maybe the books of Henning Mankell can match. There you also have a story and a suspense [...]

    19. A good book, but something just held it back from being a higher rating for me. The action, as usual, was well paced, but the story just didn't grab me like Brennan's works usually do. I really didn't like Ivy. We were led to believe her actions were all for other people's best interests, but for someone supposedly so bright, she just appeared stupid most of the time. She doesn't want to trust anyone to help her, but when everyone around you starts getting killed, you are obviously doing a lousy [...]

    20. I have not read any of the other books in the series, but after reading this I really want to. The female characters were, for the most part, strong, and kicked ass. Meanwhile there was only male character I could stand, the rest were written as very misogynistic, and I'm glad that it is pointed out, which just makes the female lead, Lucy, seem even stronger. As I've said, I haven't read the earlier books, but there were occasional mentions of what had happened. For both those reasons I do not kn [...]

    21. I absolutely LOVE every single one of Allison Brennan’s books. I think I have read every one of them, and I can never contain myself when a new one comes out, I have to buy it ASAP!This series is probably my favorite of all the ones available, simply because if you have read all the other series like I have… then you know Lucy’s story. But with this series, dedicated stickly to Lucy, we are able to delve a little deeper and see how much that horrific incident actually affected her.I love L [...]

    22. Silenced - Lucy Kincaid #4 - A Washington Sex ScandalIt has been seven years since Lucy was attacked--and almost killed--by an online predator. 24. A number of known prostitutes--with scores of high profile clients--are turning up dead all over D.C. Is this the work of a depraved killer? Or the result of an inside job? Lucy's investigation will take her into an underground network of prostitutes, the chambers of the country's most powerful players, and her own dark past to confront an unknown enemy who's always one step ahead of her. With the help of her P.I. boyfriend Sean Rogan, Lucy must find and protect the only witness who can identify [...]

    25. There was so much going on in this book with the various crimes, but I was more interested in what was going on with Lucy. It seems for the first time in a long time Lucy was made to doubt herself and her abilities. Her superiors seemed to keep giving her a slap on the hand, yet she was the one who managed to connect the crimes together, find Ivy, and find and figure out so many of the major clues.I found myself admiring Ivy. She might now have been lily white, but she did the best she could to [...]

    26. If you enjoy suspense/thrillers with multiple twists, turns and secretst against politics and the DC arenaen I recommend this book to you. Silenced by Allison Brennan is part of the Lucy Kincaid series (I'm still trying to figure out the order of the booksbut know that Stalked and Stolen come out later this year)but Silenced isn't a standalone read. I think it probably helps to read the other books in the series first to gain a better understanding regarding the characters. I started with Silenc [...]
