    1. The Road to the Avengers is more fun than Fury's Big Week. It does retread Iron Man totally, but the stuff about the part between Iron Man and Iron Man 2 is interesting. The highlight of this for me was the background to Steve, though: I loved seeing him with his mother, meeting Bucky, going to art classes, trying to train for the army I'm a bit of a Steve fangirl, at least from movie-verse, so that's not really surprising, but yeah. Oh, and you get to see more of the Commandos and Bucky, so tha [...]

    2. I Am Iron Man! – Peter David (writer); Sean Chen, Victor Olazaba, et. al. (artists)A judiciously edited graphic novel adaptation of the first Iron Man movie, which is fine because I love the movie. The art is very good. I found it interesting that in both this and Iron Man 2: Public Identity, Tony Stark is depicted having brown eyes (though not as dark as RDJ’s) instead of blue as seen in other books.Iron Man 2: Public Identity - Joe Casey, Justin Theroux (writers); Barry Kitson, Rom Lim, et [...]

    3. This was an interesting read. Not necessary to the universe necessarily, but it had some interesting insights into the background of the Iron Man and Captain America stories :)

    4. This was a pretty good collection. It is, of course, intended to be read alongside seeing the Marvel cinematic movies. Without having seen them I think this collection would be at the very least confusing. But, having seen them this was a very nice companion read.Every here (but the first story, which was just the first iron man movie) tells an original story and expands out the movie universe. It all meshed really well with the movies and the art was all around really good (except in the "just [...]

    5. This is my favorite of the Avengers-related comics I've read so far. All of the stories are set in the same timeline/universe of the films, so everything feels familiar, and the characters even look vaguely like the actors. Some of the stories are repeats of what's in the movies, but there is a lot of backstory and in-between-story, filling in holes between films and fleshing out the characters, which is great.

    6. If you're a fan of The Avengers or Agents of SHIELD, then you should read this comic book! I really enjoyed learning about what happens in between the first and second Iron Man movies. Also, Captain America is featured in this comic book! The nerdy part of me enjoyed reading every page very much. :)

    7. The first half, about Iron Man, was good. But the second half, about Captain America, jumped around every other page, from 1944, to 1932, to 1944, to 1943 - constantly. It was hard to get a feel for what was going on, felt very unfocused.

    8. The stories are kind of interesting if you've seen Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Captain America: The First Avenger, but I don't think they have much to offer on their own without that background.

    9. I've been pretty tough on the tie-in books. But The Captain America: First Vengance story is really good and helps bring insight into the MCU.And we get a Coulson story!

    10. Because they're all tie-ins, they aren't super coherent on their own, but there's some fun stuff in here.

    11. Mixed bag of tie-in comics leading up to various films within the Avenger franchise. Some are a bit lacklustre, but the one with Natasha undercover at Stark Industries is highly entertaining.
