    1. Val’s Rancher by Debra Kayn* I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*Val is the youngest McDougal daughter and runs the local tavern, Valenciennes. She is dealing with her father’s illness and can’t handle Sam walking back into her life. She was devastated when he walked away two years ago; he claims that he is back for good but she is afraid to take a chance on love again.Sam knows that he screwed up when he left two years ago. He told himself that V [...]

    2. My Review:I am really enjoying this series about the five McDougal sisters. This is book #2 and is about Val, the youngest of the sisters. She owns the bar in this small Montana town and has made a good place for herself at the young age of 23. Two years ago, her heart was shattered when the love of her life, Sam, left to pursue a life on the rodeo circuit and to give Val a chance to "grow up." In the meantime, Val has had to deal with her father's diagnosis of ALS and the rapid decline of his h [...]

    3. Val's Rancher is book number two in the Sisters of McDougal Ranch series. There are 5 McDougal sisters all names after different kinds of lace. All with the middle name Lace too. They were all brought up on a huge ranch with their protective daddy after their mama died when Valenciana was still a toddler. Val took a shine to a older boy when she was a youngster and it kind of stuck over the years. Sam was older than Val but he waited for her and finally they started dating and she thought they h [...]

    4. Val McDougal is a successful business owner in the small town she and her sisters grew up in. The only man Val has ever loved is walking back into her life after two years and she is more scared than ever that she will make a fool of herself. Sam is returning to his hometown to take over his grandfather's ranch and correct the mistake he made of walking away from the best thing to happen to him - Val. He just hopes she feels the same for him as she used to, before he broke her heart.Sam and Val [...]

    5. This is the second book in the The Sisters of McDougal Ranch series, but this book could definitely be a stand alone book. For more of the special relationship between the family, I would highly recommend reading the first book in the series "Chantilly's Cowboy".If you are looking for a story that pulls your heart stringsis is the story for you. One of the things I love about this story is that there is a lot of emotional involvement with the characters and the story and the love story that weav [...]

    6. Val that girl knows how to protect herself, even if it's not a person she needs to protect herself from, "oh sugar!" Val pushed a chair over in front of him. "I didn't know it was you. I couldn't make out who was standing there in the shadows and then you touched me, andII didn't mean to hit youere." Sam I loved him he was open and honest, "the spiders didn't bother me, but I have to say I do like finding you in my kitchen. I could get used to coming in the house and having you here." Sam snuck [...]

    7. Val's Rancher was a terrific book and I absolutely loved it. The love story of Sam and Val was well written and the depth of their love was apparent throughout the book. I became emotionally invested in this couple and rooted for them to overcome the past when Sam left Val. Sam is a sexy rancher with a tender heart that only sees Val in his future and Val is a strong yet vulnerable young woman who thinks she will lose everyone she loves to "death". This story was also about family and the strong [...]

    8. *I received this ARC copy free of charge in exchange for an honest reviewReview originally posted at foreverbklover/My thoughts:I received this ARC copy free of charge in exchange for an honest review.I normally do not read book out of sequence, but honestly this book could stand on its own. After reading this, I am anxious to go back and read Book One Chantilly’s Cowboy. I fell in love with the family, the book was very inspiring and paints an intimate portrait of a family dealing with their [...]

    9. 3.5 Stars I received an advanced copy of this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review. First off HOT HOT Cover! Love me some hot cowboys! Although this is the 2nd book in the series, it can easily be a stand alone since I have not read the 1st book (yet). I found the story to be very endearing and sweet. The plot and the characters are developed well, but I did find the plot to be very predictable and I was a bit disappointed in that respect. The romance between the two main charact [...]

    10. I started this book and enjoyed it, but didn't go on the read the series til recently. I loved the interaction in this book. There are alot of emotions in Debra's books. Jealousy, sorrow, joy, love. Getting to know the charactors in this book will take you on the rest of the sisters. They are a close knit family and look out for one another. I'm glad I found this author and her books.

    11. There is just something about Val and Sam that hooked me. This was more of a 3.5 but dang doesn't do halfies ;). I really enjoyed the details and descriptions; they really made the setting come alive for me. I loved the sassy McDougal ladies and Sam was a for sure hottie. The plot was a bit predictable but it didn't really take away from enjoying it.

    12. Val and Sam’s love for one another is strong, and Ms. Kayn brings them back together in a unique way that is realistic and oh so very sweet. To read this review in its entirety, please visit bookreviewsandmorebykathy/

    13. Val's love left her and she made her own way in life. When Sam returns and tries to win her back, all kinds of antics ensue.

    14. What a great story! Love this series. The sisters are a HOOT and their men are just plain sexy. Emotional read as well. Really enjoyed this one!
