These poems are published in four sections, the first riffs on art, culture, and life, the second is a sequence on time, life, and death, the third riffs on pop culture, and the last is another narrative sequence. I was with Raab through the first three sections, very much enjoying his takes on Magritte, Conan Doyle, Raymond Chandler, family members, and the second section is very strong work.   2. Sometimes reminiscent of Henri Coulette and maybe even Gregory Orr, these are smart poems, not tidily meaningful or foolishly solipsistic, but not often truly impactful either.
