    2. The pictures are awesome! The story is confusing. At first I thought it was factual. But then I realized it wasn't. Since it's fiction then the stories of young Reade killing Indians are just awful. I couldn't really get past that. It was not necessary to add that in a fictional story. I wish it had just been a factual autobiography since it's actually based on something real.But definitely the illustrations are great.

Mildly amusing revival of the 19th-century dime-novel superinventor Frank Reade Jr. The main appeal of this book is in the illustrations, which are either from the original dime novels or clever Photoshopping of Reade and his airships, electric cars, submarines, etc. into historical photographs.

    4. This book interweaves real and fictional history so well that at times it induces doubt about which parts are real. The real history covers both obscure and well-known events, and doesn't sugar-coat the crimes and attitudes of the past.
