    1. ****Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance®****Christmas Creek, 2 StarsThis looked like the start to a fun new paranormal series set in Australia, complete with cat-shifters, vampires and wizards. Unfortunately, confusion, odd plot points and a strange fear of women dampened my enthusiasm. Not to mention the lack of anything to do with Monsters inK, the title of the series. That business isn’t actually introduced until book 2, Vampire for Hire, which is only loosely connected to this one. And when [...]

    2. My primary feeling after finishing this book is confusion. I am so confused! The book starts off with Severin being banished from the magical Sanctuary. Why? I don't know, it was never explained. And then he moves to the middle of nowhere in Australia to escape from the vampires who are his enemies. Why are they his enemies? I don't know, it was never explained. And then he meets Will and falls instantly into magical insta-love. And then there's lots of dithering about how wizards aren't suppose [...]

    3. Full Review: thetbrpile.weebly/1/post/2I enjoyed Will and Severin's interactions - especially as Will seemed to play up his Aussie slang more whenever Sev was the most confused. Will's sister and Sev's ex-lover were wonderful side characters. They were both protective of the people they loved, even to the point of jumping into a fight that wasn't theirs to begin with. I would have liked more of the political wrangling that played out in the background and would have loved to see the villain's co [...]

    4. I felt that I had to read this one because I had decided read Vampire For Hirefor my A-Z title challenge, now I kind of wish that I hadn't. There is nothing overly wrong with the story and some parts I even like but it is the sudden realizations of love that I just don't understand and the sayings, "light my fire" I mean come on. Maybe I wouldn't mind the expressions if it wasn't that I now have read Vampire For Hire and it's just the same just with different words.

    5. I Loved Will and Sav-babe!! They were so adorable together and the sex was HOT! The book is just better when you can almost feel the love and lust coming off the pages!

    6. After a rocky start, I was planning on giving this 3 stars. Then the ending fell apart. After the big battle with the vampires, there is the perfect opportunity to go down a path that could have bumped my 3 stars up to 4 stars. Instead it took a different path. Wellt really a path, it just dropped the ball. How did the battle with the vampires fix all that was wrong in Sanctuary? It made no sense at all.Instead of going to Sanctuary and battling for his fellow wizards and for himself, it just magi [...]

    7. This is the second book I've read in this series. I read Cat on a Hot Tin Roof which is #4 or 5 so it was interesting to see where everything started. I wasn't a big fan of Sev at the beginning. To be honest, I was more intrigued by Tarix. But once, Sev got to Christmas Creek and met Will, I started to soften towards him. Some of the stuff he said was really funny. At first meeting, Will wasn't high on my list either but I warmed to him a whole lot sooner. I liked the storyline and the way thing [...]

    8. This book was quite cute and the characters were cheeky at times. The times the non-Australian character was confused by termanology was honestly funny to me as I was also confused and loved when an Australian would explain it to him. This book could be read as a standalone. If you choose to continue on with the series, be warned that the books jump. When I started reading the second book I honestly thought it was a different series I had accidentally picked up. There is no connection between thes [...]

    9. While I get where the writer was trying to do, which is show her main character as somebody from a society that is primarily lgbt, her character comes off as misogynistic, and that makes it a bit hard for me to read without wanting to throw things at the character. It does get better as he has his world view changed but in the end it does a great deal to detract from the story and kills it for me. Otherwise a good story that I would hae recommended.

    10. Right away its using annoying Epithets: the older man, the cat (he is a cat shifter), former lover, cat-boy 8% and it's all just sex thoughts. Past memories of sex with "the cat" over and over. Who cares about all the sex they used to have. Can we start the story sometime soon 17% before the really confusing and boring opening scene ends. It's mostly all sex memories or the older man thinking how hard the cat makes him. It was really slow, and really pointless. Hopefully the story can start now. [...]

    11. 2.5 stars for me. Just some quick impressions. I'm drawn to fantasy/paranormal stories so I thought I might like this. While I liked the initial interactions for the buildup of the relationship between Severin and William, in the end I felt it was just another insta-love story that tested my ability to suspend disbelief. The setting of the story in the Australian outback was nice and different and I like the Aussie slang thrown in. (I don't think any of the following are spoilers but please let [...]

    12. I wanted to like this book. Then I read it. The writing itself wasn't horrible and the characters were likable but overall there were too many issues that made it unpleasant to read. I have a long list of problems from this book that made me give it only 2 stars. The dynamics surrounding the paranormal parts of the story weren't explained very well and left me confused. The paranormal worlds hatred of women was too much. LIKE SERIOUSLY NOT OKAY. Women are typically made villains/unimportant in MM [...]

    13. A delightful series from an Australian author. I look forward to watching her grow. If you like Stephani Hecht or Amber Kell, then you should enjoy these stories.Of course, being an Aussie myself, and from South Australia, I may be a little biased. Not a good idea to read if average editing throws you off a story.

    14. A different and very funny novel. the plot is hilarious with touches of humor and intrigue. The Australian slang was tricky but not impossible. A worthwhile read
