    1. I got my copy through giveaway. Thank you Mr. Holmes for the book! :)I like the way how Winona was described by the author in Chapter 1. But as the story goes, the story pacing went fast so I'm not satisfied how the characters evolved. It lacks more about the description and relation of characters to each other. It's on the middle chapter that things start to go on a twist! I was drove by Eggie's character-mysterious and kind of bit creepy for a child. In the ending, you'll soon realize she's p [...]

    2. I received my copy of 'This World or the Next' as part of the First Reads program - thank you Lukas Holmes for adding the personal note, much appreciated.Having recently finished quite a 'heavy and emotional' novel full of difficult topics, I felt 'This World or the Next' would be a refreshing read to perk me up again, yet I didn't really expect to finish it as quickly as I did. The reason? Every time I got to the end of a chapter, I was so eager to learn what happened next that I pretty much f [...]

    3. I recieved 'This World Or The Next' by Lukas Holmes as a -giveaway.Thank you, Mr. Holmes, for the great story and the note. It makes the book an even bigger treasure. It was exciting and well written.Goes directly into my favourites and I am looking forward to Volume 2.The adventure of the children turned into one of my personal nightmares. --> that is to say, I was hooked! Good morals. (view spoiler)[I really don't like Zoos and I think, animals don't like it much, either. Picturing myself be [...]

    4. This book was read and reviewed by my teenage son. Below is his reviewThis World or the Next is the debut book for author Lukas Holmes. When I started reading this book I started off thinking that it would be something great like the Percy Jackson and Harry Potter series. I found the settings and characters to be unique, with my personal favorite being the Texas teen Cam. I enjoyed the story from start to end with the clever plot twist at the end leaving the reader wanting as many answers as the [...]

    5. First of all, a big thank you to Mr. Holmes for sending me this book, and the sweet note :) It's a treasure I probably wouldn't have discovered otherwise. In the beginning, it is kind of confusing, because such references are made that do not make any sense at all. But slowly, as the story proceeds, we get to know and understand more. One thing I didn't like was that at times, the behavior of the characters was inexplicable, because we hadn't been given enough information about them to be able t [...]

    6. I received this book through the giveaway along with a nice note from the author. This book, to me, it not what it seems. In a way it felt like two completely different stories. Yet, it works. I have to say I had no idea what I was getting into when I began to read this book. The first half was quite spooky, at least to me. Think Dickens, old London, with a bit of horror mixed in. The other half, however, blasted off into a whole new element of science fiction and adventure. At first I was a bit [...]

    7. First proper review so please be gentle :)I received this book from Lukas Holmes from the GoodReads give-away, so first of all thank you for that and for the personal message.I am really trying to branch out my reading at the moment and thought this would be a good start.I've got to say I really enjoyed the book, lots of twists and turns that I honestly didn't expect, as other reviewers have mentioned I do think some more detail could have gone into some of the characters but this really didn't [...]

    8. Great read! The characters are thoroughly developed, and the science fiction, which isn't necessarily my favorite genre, was intriguing. Looking forward to diving into book 2.
