    1. If you’re looking for a fun addictive read with snarky banter, hot kisses, and kick-ass action, look no further. Demons of the Sun is a story for you!Persephone is the last of a family of Sentries, charged with the task of keeping the Hades Dagger safe from the Underworld. The Dagger could bring untold death and destruction to mankind if a demon got his hands on it. She knows both the importance and the cost of keeping it safe. She is the remaining survivor of her family after a demon attack. [...]

    2. I have a slight obsession with all things Greek Mythology, so I kinda knew going in that I would love this one. I also happen to think the author, Cindi Madsen, is pretty much made of all things awesome and witty, so that gave me a good clue, too. But I never expected to like this story as much as I did, where I was getting angry with my Kindle as the percent left kept getting smaller and smaller.Demons of the Sun has everything I love about this genre: a relatable, strong, snarky heroine with h [...]

    3. I feel the need to start by saying, Demons of the Sun is YA Urban Fantasy at it's best! I have so much I want to say about this story and I will try to contain myself, but I make no promises. The world that author Cindi Madsen built in Demons of the Sun is detailed enough that it felt authentic, yet it was easy to understand. The world is built around demon slaying and Greek Mythology, which I found to be an interesting and extremely smart idea. The New Orleans setting gave the story an appropri [...]

    4. Also posted: jana-thebookgoddess.cBefore I start gushing about this SPPECCTACULLARR book, let me just say thank you to author Cindi Madsen for providing me a review copy. Yay! I was looking forward to this book and I couldn't believe my luck when she said she can provide a review copy for me. Thank you thank you thank you!! :D (Totally made my day, guys!)Anyway, I had some pretty big expectations for DEMONS OF THE SUN. You all know how I'm so obsessed with greek mythology and romance and kick-bu [...]

    5. (I had a preview copy of this book and was one of the first to ever read it. So proud. (: ) This book is absolutely wonderful!! I loved every page, the writing is beautful and you can't stop turning the pages! I loved how greek mythology was intertwined through out, and the characters were perfect too. Persopone was the all time relatable heroine, and JAX. was perfect. Lets just say I fell in love with him multiple times! Its a definite must read and I can't wait for more from Cindi Madsen!!Xox, [...]

    6. Demons of the Sun is a blend of mythology and the paranormal that created an action packed Urban Fantasy. There was never a dull moment. While the plot was interesting, it was the characters that made this book even better for me. Persephone is a girl alone in the world. She is the last Sentry. Her duty is to guard the Hades Dagger that will keep the world safe from demons and evil. So far, she's managed to keep it safe, but the tension is building and trouble is brewing. There's a man that's be [...]

    7. Action, mythology, romance--and a heroine who steals your heart. As quickly as you fall for hot, sexy Jax.The plot is amazing, demons, a dangerous dagger artifact that puts everyone's life at risk and keeps the plot turning and. I'm for the love and the longing--the tension between the couples.Cindi does that perfectly. My daughter also loved this book.Jax and Persephone aren't exactly the 'perfect' couple at first. No 'insta-love' here. He appears in her life swearing his duty is to protect her [...]

    8. A masterpiece of violence and romance.I really enjoyed this book. The story is deep and the characters are as real as they come. Also, the main character Persephone is a butt-kicking hottie!

    9. This was a fanstatic first novel from Cindi. Persephone is a great heroine. Alive, wonderful, brave, scared, indecisiv and impulsive. Jax was a gift from God! Read the book you won't regret it.

    10. This review is sponsored by the song Fire by BTS because it represents the fire coming out of my butthole while I was reading this crap.PrologueOnce upon a time I read an illegally translated reimagining of a Persephone and Hades' story. It was beautifully presented and written, contained a great deal of world building and a slow-burn, fully consensual romance. Unfortunately, this book was lost in the vast abyss of the Internet. And so I had an opportunity to read another retelling of one of my [...]

    11. I’d been looking forward to reading ‘Demons of the Sun’ for so long. Unlike the rest of the YA world, I haven’t jumped on too many Greek Myth stories, so I went into it with a mostly clear head; but I was really interested to see what Cindi Madsen came up with. I was not disappointed. Persephone is the last remaining Sentry; guardian of the Hades Dagger, a dagger that would cause the world to be overrun by demons if it got into the wrong hands. The problem is, the dagger calls to her – [...]

    12. I have to start by saying this completely blew my expectations away. Not that I didn't think I would like it, because if that was the case, I wouldn't have even read it. No, it's because with so many books on mythology, and fantasy it becomes harder and harder to make a creative story that I really can become invested in. Well, this one was awesome! I absolutely loved it!! Not only was it creative and engaging, but it had a great amount of action, romance, and mystery element to it. (Though, me [...]

    13. I read this in one day so had to mark it as "could not put it down books". It isn't an all time favorite or anything like that but it definitely kept me reading. It is based loosely on mythology, but it is set in modern day and Persephone (she was named after the Goddess - she isn't one) is a high school student with a secret. Her Gram has died but she does not dare tell anyone that she is living alone because she is hiding an ancient artifact, the Hades Dagger which could turn demons into daywa [...]

    14. Original review posted on fictitiousdelicious on 09/04/12:It’s a happy book birthday for DEMONS OF THE SUN by Cindi Madsen and I’d like to suggest that you all run out and get a copy of this book to celebrate the joyous occasion! I can guarantee you’ll be glad you did. DEMONS OF THE SUN is about demons, but before you give me the runaround about how you don’t want to read a demon book, listen to me. This is a story about demons with a healthy sprinkle of GREEK MYTHOLOGY thrown in for goo [...]

    15. Review first published on my blog: Pieces of WhimsyI won an e-copy of this book as part of Rachel Harris' Flirt Squad. Cindi Madsen was a guest author and put a couple of copies of her book (and some snazzy bookmarks) up for grabs. I hadn't known much about this book before I started reading, just that it involved greek mythology, a girl called Persophone and of course, demons. The first page of the book dived into action and within the first 100 or so words, I was hooked. To me that is one sign [...]

    16. Review also appears on my blogSo let's see if you love Greek mythology, amazing heroines, some hot kisses oh and daggers that may just lead to the end of the world, then this book is for you.Let's start with the main heroine. Persephone is one kick-ass heroine. I mean she was just amazing. She lost her family because of the dagger and now it's her duty to protect it. The fate of the entire world quite literally lies with her. She loses the dagger and demons come out and kill of the entire human [...]

    17. Did-Not-FinishActually, I could not finish. I could not get past the mediocre, bland writing or two-dimensional characters - it was that bad.

    18. 3.5 StarsAfter the death of her grandmother Persephone is the last of her family and she alone has to protect a supernatural dagger from falling into the hands of Hades. Along comes Jax, a warrior from the Order of Zeus who, upon finding Persephone alone, decides it is his calling to stay and protect her. Demon activity is increasing and they begin calling Persephone their queen. She becomes closer to Jax, as he is there to support and protect her, and she grows more distant from the man in her [...]

    19. This was an interesting read and it surprised me. We have a strong heroine, Persephone, who is the last Sentry and is protector of the Hell's Dagger. I'm not going to have any spoilers in this review so this will be quick. There is little mythology in this book but hints at it. As the book goes on, you can unravel and figure out the mystery man. Other characters in this book is pretty much well rounded. And each character is sassy, somewhat cocky, funny, smart, determined, and kick-butts! This w [...]

    20. I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I loved the idea behind this book and the storyline certainly had me glued to the pages. It amazed me that someone like Persephone could go through so much at such a young age and come out such a strong person. I enjoyed her and Jax's romance, it was really sweet and certainly not without its obstacles.(view spoiler)[Am I the only person who had a tiny part of them want Hades and Persephone to be together? I know he's evil and trying to take over the human [...]

    21. Greek mythology is hands up my favourite kind of story to read and with a handsome and dreamy guy, a kick ass heroine and plenty of action I must say it is a story I'm really happy I read it. . You don't have to know Greek mythology to enjoy the story but it will help you to connect with the characters if you know a little bit about Hades and Persephone. The story has a new spin and modern intake to the Hades myth and I loved every single page. Jax is totally swoon-worthy fact I think he must de [...]

    22. Fast paced and hard to put down. Great story. I can't wait to get an autographed copy for my daughters--I love a good heroine who stands up for herself. This is so the opposite of Twilight--well written, believable characters, and the main character isn't a self-absorbed, vacuous twit. I hope this is the first in a series, because I'd love to see what happens next. That's the sign of a good book, when you get to the end and you immediately want more.

    23. Interesting novel about demons with the added twist of Greek Mythology. I liked the storyline, but - maybe I'm just greedy - I wanted more background into the characters and I thought the world-building could have used more substance. All in all though, it was a good, fun read. For me, this falls somewhere between "liked it" and "really liked it" so I'm going with 3.5 stars

    24. So I was at school and I saw the poster on the wall of my friends math teacher, and I got curious googled it, then read it(It was great). This year I have my friends teacher and I saw the poster on the wall again, My math teacher is Cindi Madsen's husband, one of my favorite authors husband is teaching me math, I have a really hard time not fangirling by proxy in class.

    25. I really enjoyed it. Loved the main character and her swoon-worthy Warrior! Who doesn't love a hot egotistical self-appointed protector? (And where can I find one for me? Seriously?) I'm looking forward to reading a lot more from Cindi in the future.

    26. Demons of the Sun is a good story with a realistic heroine. However, the relationship between Jax and Persephone moved very quickly. Also, parts of the story, I feel, needed a little bit more explanation.

    27. I really enjoyed reading this book! Jax is now one of my favorite characters- not nearly as cocky as others. I loved the idea of the Sentries. Very creative and fun!
