    3. Simply put A Very Romantic Love Story! It was just lovely. The whole book had an almost poetic feel to it. The characters were beautiful. I loved the whole story. Generally a lovely, feel good book. **SPOILER ALLERT**I loved the whole book until the end! I felt completely jipped!! I waited so long for them to say loving words to each other and profess their love but we never got it. I felt completely and utterly let down. I so desperately wanted Claudio to tell Laura that he loved her and he tho [...]

    4. Genre: realistic fiction, romanceSummary: Laura is a publicist who works with up and coming artists. For some unknown reason, she is attached to help the blind singer, Claudio who is the hottest thing since heatpacks. While she brushes off his flirtations, she falls madly in love with him. The question is, will he love her back?Response: The main reason why I got this book is because I had a voucher from and this was the best option. It was ok. Not super impressed with the story, but it was a n [...]

    6. Age old Man meets Woman tale , set in modern day France. Interesting translation too. I only wish I knew how to read French, because I have a feeling this would've read better in the original language.

    8. I didn't know what to expect from "Love Story" by author Janine Boissard. The story line concept--wounded "hero" redeemed by the love of a good woman with unconventional beauty--is not new, but here it still seemed fresh. Perhaps the opera world setting featuring a superstar tenor enhanced the romance and added some intriguing shadings to the characters. While I do have a great appreciation for opera, I am still just a fan, not a in-depth aficionado. I am still simply in awe by the power of the [...]

    10. Back cover:" If she was beautifulif he wasn't blindBut Laura isn't beautiful and Claudio is blind. He's a celebrity, and she his guide. And beyond any hope, Laura will fall in love by the marvelous tenor, admired all around the world. Because his voice, between cinism and despair, sings the beauty of a world that he cant see anymore. She guesses his thoughts and love him without hoping anything in return. One night, without thought, he offers her the moon, but it's is she who wants to give it to [...]

    11. Claudio is an opera singer who after an attack becomes blind and is forced to give up the opera he so loved and concentrate of his singing alone. Because of his good looks, he does not have a problem enjoying women, but he is but a shadow of the man he used to be before the attack and therefore he moves from one woman to the next. Laura is a successful publicist albeit average looking. When she is offered the position to go on tour with Claudio and take over as his publicist, she is suspicious. [...]

    12. This was a book that was simply poetic to me. It’s unlike me, but I think I loved this book so much purely because of the way the story is told as opposed to the story itself. Does that make any sense? The book was originally in French, so perhaps that was a contributing factor.Simply put, this was a story full of romance, hope and music. Everything about it was vivid: the description of the scenery, the music and the emotion. Of course, this was often due to Claudio’s need, but I was consis [...]

    13. This book was originally released in French in 2003 and has only recently been translated into English and released here as a Kindle book. I truly enjoyed the story. As the title suggests, it truly is a beautiful "Love Story" about a famous singer and his publicist.**SPOILER ALERT**I did somewhat question Laura's sudden up and leaving Claudio simply because of David's comment that Claudio wouldn't need her anymore if the operation was successful. It seemed to me like she inflicted a lot more pai [...]

    15. Overly romantic, almost mawkish but with some poignant moments. I didn't relate to the heroine's self-sacrificial approach to "love" and found it tiresome at times. Also wasn't crazy about the temperamental hero who was given to sharp and sudden shifts in mood from rage to passion to despair. Lots of interesting turns of phrase that kept me engaged though. There were many references to Barbara Cartland novels, which I think may have influenced this author's style of romance: the innocent, somewh [...]

    16. I love a good love story. I would have given this book more stars if it hadn't used my least favorite swear word so many times. In the beginning I was a little put off by how quickly Laura the main character fell in love with Claudio. It was almost love at first "listen" and seemed more like infatuation with a famous singer, but towards the end when we find out that he loves her too I was riveted and kept wanting to read more. A blind opera singer.r read that genera before :)Also a little differ [...]

    17. What a beautiful story. I really enjoyed this book. I actually listened to this on audiobook at work. Note to self: Don't read this in public. I was trying not to cry throughout the last half of the book. My eyes were tearing up and my throat was choking with emotion. I really wanted to give this 5 STARS, but I just couldn't because I wish there was more interaction with the two main characters in the second half of the book. But, lovely story none the less!!!!

    19. A beautifully written love story in Paris. I loved the poetic writing and the way Boissard let the reader imagine what Laura and Clauido were feeling. On another note, I felt Claudio's language was an unneeded crudeness and it was unbelievable that Laura would fall for a man that spoke in that manner. Overall I really enjoyed the book.

    20. This was a much different book that I usually read. Dramatic, but not over the top. I am not sure why I bought it, but I picked it up not knowing much about it. I was not surprised to find out the author was French. I really enjoyed it- it was very romantic and touching.

    21. Awe <3 This was such a sweet story! I felt like I was in France with Laura, Janine Boissard writes beautifully. She's so descriptive and the translation was beautifully done. My only complaint is I wish it had been longer!

    22. "Lovely It's not the most beautiful love story I have ever read, I enjoyed enough to fall in love by the world of classical music with its great composers and their tragic, but beautiful, operas!"

    23. Finally, it became a love story. All in all, I liked this book. Like many other books, however, this story got a little repetitious with the misunderstanding that went on and on in their minds. I enjoyed the changes in locations.

    24. I read a few of Boissard's books in the 1990s and remember really liking them. I remember thinking how well she described the depths of emotions. But this was terrible--treacly, repetitive, no character depth. I can't believe this is the same author.

    25. This was so much better than what I expected. The translation was just a tiny bit stilted. French to English can be hard to translated, especially because French language nuances are so delicate. I loved the plot and how it played out. 4 stars!

    26. This book was predictable. I felt it lost a little something in the conversion from French to English, but it was a very quick and good read.
