    1. Reviewed by Jaglvr for TeensReadTooSenior year is over and Aspen and her beau, Rand, are off to State for freshman year. After a kidnapping plot in high school, college is going to be a vacation. But before Aspen and Rand pull out of Aspen's driveway, local cop Harry (who Aspen helped solve the kidnapping plot with) comes to tell her goodbye. He makes her promise to not pledge the Zeta house at State because his niece was a sister there and went missing the previous semester. Of course, telling [...]

    2. I almost did not give this book a chance. Reading a lot of Mary Higgins-Clark, John Grisham, and others, I was accustomed to the action-packed-keep-you-guessing-killer-totally-from-out-of-left-field types of premise that I was totally bummed out reading this one.I felt that the author was trying too hard to make Aspen sound cool but to me, it just fell flat. She did not sound cool, she sounded trying hard to be cool. Her confident awareness of herself did not come out like that, it came out very [...]

    3. Aspen Brooks is headed off to college and she just know it's going to be fabulous! Then as she's leaving she learns about a girl in the Zeta sorority who disappeared and Aspen know she has to get to the bottom of it. She pledges the sorority and vows to find Mitzi. But a lot of things aren't what they seem at Zeta. Has Aspen gotten in over her head? Okay, I get that it's tongue-in-cheek, but I found Aspen to be pretty obnoxious most of the time and I never really bought her motivation for solvin [...]

    4. If I loved the first book, I definitely love, LOVE this better. It has a lot of going on and depths than the first book. It has its usual cute-romantic moments with Aspen and Rand (gotta love this pairing) and Aspen's witty comments. Mostly about herself, which makes it very funny. The thing that this book lack is how she ended the "mystery". She could have done better with the twist though because I already knew who did it when I reached the middle part.

    5. I am so excited to be reading this book. I am only about 50 pages in and I am just giggling over Aspen. Ms. Hale has nailed the excitment and feelings associated with recruiment and potential new members. I can't wait to finish the book. Update: I finished the book and all I can say is Ms. Hale has definitely found her calling.

    6. Aspen is ready to put the drama of her senior year of high school behind her and move on to her freshman year of college. She is so excited to be going to school with Rand! Unfortunately, things don't start out as planned. There is a surprise roommate, missing sorority girl, and not enough time for Rand.Aspen continues to find trouble wherever she goes!

    7. I like this book better than the first in the series. Aspen as a character is much more likeable this time, and I felt the writing had really improved. The story lacked suspense and could have actually been drawn out a little more, but overall I found myself really enjoying it. It didn't have the outdated 90s feeling that the first book had, so I could feel like Aspen was attending my college.

    8. Aspen Brooks has done it again! Our favorite teenage sleuth has solved another crime! This time, our heroine is off to her freshman year of college, trying to balance grades, social life and of course, her hobby as undercover detective. Ms. Hale has spun another indulgent tale that will keep readers laughing their way through this engaging novel.

    9. I think I really like this series because they are YA mysteries which are hard to find outside the sci-fi & fantasy arena. Although the mysteries are very Nancy Drew-esque, I still enjoy Aspen's shenanigans. Total guilty pleasure, but not so embarrassing that I'm unwilling to admit to it.

    10. Reading Stephanie Hale is like watching your favorite tv show - it just makes you happy you found the story. Stephanie's books are the first I read in the YA market and spurred my move from Women's Fiction to YA. And she's a pretty stellar human being as well.

    11. I didn't find this quite as entertaining as the first book in the series. I think I was hoping for a tiny bit more character development and the mystery solving seems almost accidental this time.

    12. This is the sequel to REVENGE OF THE HOMECOMING QUEEN, but a fantastic book on its own. Lots of laughs and twists and turnsI could not put it down.

    13. Smart Fun BookNormally hate new or young adult books. I love this trilogy of the self centered beauty queen with the geek boyfriend.
