    1. Talk about shocking! Within the first few paragraphs the surprises start and they don’t let up. Following the events from the character’s point of view was great, because we know as much as he does, and that isn’t very much. As he gradually figures out what happened, the shock may lessen, but the surprises don’t stop. The blurb promises a story with a few twists and some complications, and that is exactly what you’ll get.Rob is a modern-day gay man, trying to find a date he doesn’t a [...]

    2. Reviewed on Hearts On Fire heartsonfirereviews/ This was a sweet story with a nice time twist to it. I'm not normally a fan of historicals but Mr. Thomas wove a wonderful story that pulled me right in. Robert Daniel's taste in me as been pitiful. The last guy he was out on a date with was so boring that Robert actually said "somebody shoot me" and somebody did. Robert wakes up in a strange place with awful chest pain and is told by an odd looking nurse that he's been shot. Convinced that he's dr [...]

    3. I usually have a hard time reading M/M historical, but this was different. I truly enjoyed the historical setting and the comparison with modern day. Robert and Hugh wer both really god characters. I wouldn't have minded a longer story because they were really well fleshed out for such a short story.

    4. This title was provided free by the author or publisher for review purposes. Review originally posted at Brief Encounters Reviews.Rating: C+A great idea for a time travel story and a well-researched jaunt into the jazz era. However, a tendency to exposition and overused internal monologue prevented me from falling into the story as deeply as I would have liked. The story opens with Rob, our point of view character, getting shot in the present day. It's a swift moving scene with plenty of drama, a [...]

    5. What a gem of a short story. In this one we meet Rob who is on another boring date with a man who is droning on about anything he can think of. Rob is wondering why does he allow himself to be put himself in these situation and wishes why don't you just shoot me. Next thing ya know his date is screaming, Rob has a bullet in his chest and can't believe what has transpired. Later a groggy Rob awakens in pain in a hospital room with a women dressed in an old fashion nurse's outfit and a handsome yo [...]

    6. I really enjoyed this for so many reasons : I think the author was so thorough in his research that it made the story feel very real, the characters are really well written and really easy to get attached to and - obviously - it's time traveling! Okay, I think technically it isn't really time traveling, but it has a very nice twist of how you can time and body travel so okay it didn't have a "scientific" explanation to time traveling, not even any explanation at all, but that isn't necessarily a [...]

    7. Like its author, "It Had To Be You" is warm and welcoming. It's a quick read as well. I finished on a single commute to work and back home again. The characters were instantly engaging, the research into Kansas City in the late 1920s was easily incorporated into the narrative in a way that was fluid rather than holding the aura of "here is a lot of information for you." Anyway, yes, read, enjoy. Make yourself a hot beverage as well. I think it would go nicely with this book.

    8. Robert is woken in an strange body strange world and is shot he doesn't know how and why but what he finds out he is set back in time to 1920's. In his present life he has had a bad love life, but here here he seem s to find Hugh a lovely man who is in love with jimmy who they all think he is but is he really. Read find out what is in store for Robert.

    9. 4.5 Sweet, romantic story about a second chance at lovewhen inadvertently going/arriving back in time. Very well-written and researched, i loved the period details and the characters.

    10. A good story, it ended differently than I expected it to but still good. I can't decide if Rob was fortunate or not because he both gained and loss people he loved.
