    1. Reading this series because recommended by Susan S, my friend and a grad of Berkeley. The pace is good in this read fast and keeps reader engaged. Characters well sketched out and some humorously funky even for Berkeley. I have two more tucked under the pillow (then will swap with Susan S). If you are interested in a lady cop solving relatively complex crimes good length and in a series (not totally necessary to read in sequence), I would encourage you to give these a try!

    3. Enjoyable mystery made all the more interesting by the fact that it took place in Berkeley, California - a city I know well. Recognizable landmarks lent an authenticity to the story. Well-drawn characters, solid plot, and good writing all contributed to the story. I'm looking forward to reading more of Dunlap's books.

    4. It was a fast read, held my attention, enough suspense and uncertainty for my taste. Simple, enjoyable, not great literature.
