    1. I have loved the Weaver family since the beginning of the series. Katie helped me to remember the wonder of child-like faith is a glorious thing. Thank you Shelley.

    2. This is a sweet Amish novella with Katie Weaver the main character at six and a half years old. It revolves around her favorite librarian and the rundown nativity set in front of the library. Katie wishes Miss Donovan, the librarian would find a love interest and be happy. The nativity pieces start disappearing so there is a bit of a mystery. This is when the new deputy in town investigates. Nice holiday book.

    3. A very cute and sweet story of love, hope, and faith. Written very well, this novella gives us a glimpse into the wonderfully precious mind of Katie, a lovable 6 year old girl. Katie is a sweetheart. As any child, she is full of big ideas, great enthusiasm, and a tender innocence. Author Shelley Shepard Gray has done a great job writing this girl and what goes on inside her mind. Although there are nice supporting characters, and we get to see their points of view, too, it is Katie who kept my i [...]

    4. A very simple but sweet Christmas Novella. This quick one had a little of everything. A little mystery, a little romance, and a little Christmas spirit.Good character development. all the characters were likable and true/believable. There was a mix of Amish and "English" so it made the story that much more interesting. The ending, however, was a little more open ended than I would have liked. But still a great story!

    5. Like any Amish story it has a happy ending.Jayne and Katie have a very interesting story that is told between an Englisher and an Amish little girl who wants a Nativity of real people on Christmas Eve. It is a real Christmas story.

    6. Title: A CHRISTMAS FOR KATIEAuthor: Shelley Shepard GrayPublisher: Avon InspireNovember 2012ISBN: 978-0062242563Genre: Amish/Christmas/NovellaWill a little Amish girl make a Christmas miracle? It isn't easy to be Katie Weaver. Her sister-in-law Ella is about to have a baby, making Katie an aunt for the second time . . . and she's only six and a half! Plus, her favorite librarian, Miss Donovan, seems sad. She won't even fix up the rundown nativity in front of the library in time for Christmas. The [...]

    7. Shelley Shepard Gray writes "A Christmas for Katie"This tiny book has a big lesson for everyone, children and adults too.Katie is just 6 but she has a heart that leads others to see A Christmas nativity in a different light. This one is plastic and sits by the library in a small little town.Katie is loved by many in this little town and they all listen when she talks of how bad the nativity is and needs help to make Christmas special. The librarian Miss Donovan is sad after a romance did not work [...]

    8. Shelley Shepard Gray does a superb job showing the feelings of six-year old Katie, who is trying to be obedient, but no one else seems to care as much as she does that the Christmas nativity is about to fall apart. Her solution? Well, fixing it would be a good start, but even better, to have a live nativity using people and animals!Katie then turns her attention to the librarian, Jayne, who she feels is lonely and needs a husband but when Jayne meets Deputy Conner Fields, she is smitten, without [...]

    9. "A Christmas for Katie" by Shelley Shepard Gray gets 5 stars from me. This is just a short story about Katie Weaver who was a live nativity this Christmas in front of the library. She is 6 and a half years old. The librarian Jayne didn't want anything to do with it. Katie believing it was because she had a broken heart because her uncle John had broken up with her prays that God sends her a man to fall in love with. Then a new man walks into the library right at closing time and then there is a [...]

    10. “A Christmas for Katie” by Shelly Shephard Gray is a book by one of my favorite authors. It is a perfect Christmas read and a wonderful gift to give for Christmas. All Katie wants is a beautiful nativity scene in front of the library on Christmas Eve. However sad the present one looks, there is also the fact that someone is taking pieces, one at a time, and ruining what was left of the nativity scene. Katie’s wish is that they could have a live Christmas nativity with real people playing t [...]

    11. I Have liked everything I have read so far from Shelley Shepard Gray. Although I have not read the the series that precedes this book, I read this book because it was a Christmas story. I now plan to read the previous 4 books in order at some point. This book was not that long, but it still had a complete story and did not feel liking. I am sure it offered some closure to people who read the series. With some shorter books you almost feel cheated of part of the story, that is not the case with t [...]

    12. While this is a cute story about a little Amish girl, Shelley Shepherd Gray obviously has little knowledge of libraries. Any public library in America should be ashamed if they have a nativity outside because libraries are meant to be a religion-free space. I'm disappointed that the premise was under-reseached and it gave me a sour response to the story as a whole.

    13. Amazing, Awesome, Tear Jerk-er, Love, sweet, sad, mysterious, then add in CHRISTMAS Well what else needs to be said. This book will be one that I will go back to as a Favorite Christmas story to read again and again. To Read More: Breath of Life

    14. It is difficult for me to give this book a fair review. It definitely needs to be read only after reading other books in the series. Without knowing the back stories of some characters, i felt a bit lost with parts of some storylines. It was a sweet book, however, with a heartwarming Christmas message.

    15. I really liked this novella, for it was like catching up with old friends, and tying up a few loose ends (like Jane the librarian). It was amazing to remember that little Katie was a preschooler when the series started. The whole series she'd been wise beyond her years, and yet we'd see that young curious creature and we (or the adults in the book) couldn't help but smile or shake their heads. :)

    16. True MeaningA quick read that reminds us all, at this crazy time of year, what Christmas is all about. Read it for yourself, you'll be glad you did.

    17. Little Katie's favorite librarian seems sad so Katie wants to fix the situation: the Nativity set and a love for Miss Donovan.115 pages

    18. This book is proof that a novella CAN be 5 stars. Lovely Christmas Amish story that has a true ending to it. Will read this again a month or so before Christmas.

    19. A little cheesy in places. The writing style was rather simplistic, it felt as if I were reading a children's story.
