    2. First off let me say that I am thrilled that Joe Vogel's articles on Michael Jackson's artistic and cultural legacy have been collected together in this slim little volume "Featuring Michael Jackson". Vogel's approach will, I trust, influence others in taking seriously the King of Pop's contribution to both the performing arts and social change. For me this is important not just in perpetuating Michael's legacy as an artist, but also in promoting understanding of the broader influence Michael has [...]

    3. Joseph Vogel's Featuring Michael Jackson is a collection of 10 essays (plus a bonus chapter) on Michael Jackson. These essays supplement Vogel's Man in the Music in exploring Michael Jackson's creative input away from the tabloid image that has dominated public consciousness for so long. It's probably important to point out that the essays have all been previously published. I had read some before, but even so, it's great to have these collected together to read and re-read at my leisure. The top [...]

    4. Joseph Vogel in a short period of time jumped with his balanced, thorough & insightful ways to the top of my favorite authors list. Almost everyone that wrote about my beloved Michael were disrespectful, unreasonable & inconsiderate toward anything that he went through. They have no sympathy to his illnesses or to his past they treated him unfairly, abused & bullied him. What I liked about Mr. Vogel is that before saying anything, he TRIED to "walk 2 moons in his moccasins."He TRIED [...]

    6. Joseph Vogel is absolutely spot-on in everything he says here. Short as it might be, Featuring Michael Jackson is one of the better books on the subject out there, balancing thoughtful, insightful analysis and comment with tidbits of information about production that I'd never heard before. The essay on "Gone Too Soon" is especially good.
