    1. Blud And MagickbyPreston NortonMy summaryort and sweetDarla is a Demi God and doesn't or rather didn't know it until her 14th year.My thoughts after readingHmmmI found this to be a rather strange story that included almost every kind of other worldly being. This included shifters and vampires and wizards and dragons and tons more. Darla and her only relativeUncle Edwinhave moved around a lot. The reason given to Darla is Uncle Edwin's professionhe is a school inspector but the real reason is for [...]

    2. Darla Summer is fourteen and dealing with some serious problems. She and her Uncle Ed travel and move often. She runs into complications at her new High School. She learns of a magical world that she is a part of. She was born from the ashes of a powerful villian. Her dilemma is how to control the evil lurking within her and continue to be the good girl.I debated on the rating that I wanted to give this book. It would be more accurate to have a 4.5 star option. I was kept up late into the night g [...]

    3. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley on behalf of Cedar Fort publishingPreston Norton's Blud and Magick was an exciting and fun novel. It had a bit of a Harry Potter feel to it, what with our heroine discovering her supernatural heritage and going off into another realm to a special school. But it was by no means a copycat. Blud and Magick was original and creative. The concept behind Darla was incredibly interesting and an idea that you could explore on and on. The dilemma of whether s [...]

    4. The first chapter of Blud and Magick pulled me in with great imagery and I enjoyed watching the Sages interact at the meeting that sets the stage for the rest of the story. Their different personalities provided contrast and interest that made me want to learn more about them and their world. The next chapter jumps forward to just after Darla’s 14th birthday. She is about to start yet another first day at a new school and we get a glimpse into her character before everything in her world change [...]

    5. I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. For two reasons. The first being that the protag, Darla, is only 14. This must have slipped my notice when I requested this book because, with the exception of Harry Potter, I prefer the characters to be a bit older. The second reason, is that this book was written by a male author, and with a female protag. In the past, I've found that I struggle more to connect with females, written by men, though there have been a couple of exceptions.D [...]

    6. Darla Summers is a normal, or seemingly normal, American teen jut trying to fit in and find her way in a new high school. When a series of events forces her to react she learns that she is more than normal – and so are her new study partners Ash and Cirrus.Ash and Cirrus are both likeable, Ash in a more pestering brotherly sort of way. Together they are all thrust into a world they didn’t know existed. All of them just wanting to find a home, a place where they are all accepted.I enjoyed Dar [...]

    7. Blud and Magick is a fascinating story of a teen girl, Darla Summer, who had no idea of her origin. For her whole life, she believed that she was a normal girl, with no magical supernatural abilities at all. Well, she's about to find out how wrong she was when she moved to enrolled to yet another new school. From the first chapter, I knew the Blud and Magick would pull me in instantly. The story is fast-paced, and full of actions and magic. I love how the author kept on switching between witty hu [...]

    8. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review. Darla Summers thinks she lives an ordinary life. She lives with her uncle and they move a lot for his job. When she gets to her newest school she begins to notice a few strange things. Some of the kids act different and she has some very weird dreams. One day something horrible happens and she learns she isn't normal and that supernatural things are all around her. She also learns she was born from the ashes of an evil c [...]

    9. Darla Summers is just the name of the most evil warlord ever in Trivaesian history spelled backwards - but she doesn't know that yet. She just thinks that something mysterious happened in her past and that's why she lives with her Uncle Edmund. But really Darla was born from the ashes of the most evil warlord in the history of a magical land that she is about to be thrown into headfirst, when his followers come searching for her as a way to resurrect him! Now with the help of her reluctant misfi [...]

    10. My review:Blüd and Magick is a great book for fantasy readers! It involves so many creatures you usually meet in the fantasy and paranormal genre: witches, shifters, demons, vampires – you name it and it’s there! It was well written, easy to read and had fascinating characters. The story flowed smoothly and it kept my interest, especially due to the world the author has created.Meet Darla, a teenager girl who has no idea where her roots are from. She lives with her uncle and they are consta [...]

    11. 4 STARSBlud and Magick is a different story but is simalar in type to Harry Potter fans will like. 12. In early February I had the chance to be a part of the Blüd and Magick Blog Tour. Fantasy isn't my favorite genre, but the excerpt I was provided for my tour stop made the book sound very interesting, so I was excited when I had the chance to read it.The fantasy books I prefer are those mixed with modern day. I was a bit concerned when Blüd and Magick opened with no modern elements, but it quickly made the move to the modern world and became more interesting to me. I found myself really liking [...]

    13. Darla Summer thinks she's just a normal teenager. She lives with her uncle Edwin, and they travel around an awful lot for his job, so Darla is always the "new girl" at school. It has gotten to be pretty normal for her. What she doesn't know, but is about to find out is that she is really from a different place called Trivaesia, where she was born from the ashes of a man they called the Shadow Lord. But his followers have now found her and they want to take her back to Trivaesia so that the Shado [...]

    14. I received this book from Cedar Fort for a honest and fair review these thoughts are mine and mine alone. This book was so good it follows young Darla who is born from a big evil that roamed the earth prior to her birth.Darla lives with her Uncle Ed and has spent most of her time moving around when Darla is discovered Ed has to reveal the truth to Darla and her friends Ash and Cirrus. Ash being a wizard or male witch and Cirrus being a half vampire half human. Darla learns that she was born from [...]

    15. See Complete Review At SoImFiftyThe premise is definitely what attracted me to the book, good rising out of evil, pretty compelling stuff. I wanted to see how Norton was going to flesh this out. He did an awesome job creating characters and a believable world. That said, I felt the narrative suffered from a common problem when world building. How much backstory does the reader need for the plot to move forward? There were a few times I felt bogged down in extemporaneous details, ones that are im [...]

    16. Darla Summer is a teenage girl who is constantly on the move with her Uncle Ed. When they arrive at a place long enough for her to start making friends, Darla meets Ash and Cirrus Craven, adopted brothers who seem to repel everyone they come in contact with. She is assigned to do a project with them at school, and when things get out of hand, Darla finds herself asking questions about her origins, and her Uncle Ed tries hard to keep the truth from her -- that she is the reincarnation of the Dark [...]

    17. Darla Summer was an average teenage girl. That is until she discovered she was born out of the ashes of the evil shadow lord. BLUD AND MAGICK had a mixture of demons, vampires, witches and more. A great story line and the end, in my opinion, left room for a second book, all while leaving the reader satisfied. This young adult paranormal is recommended for YA and young at heart. A great read!Rating: 4.5Heat Rating: sweetReviewed By: Rae,My Book Addiction Reviews

    18. I really enjoyed this book. It held my attention and I found myself anxious to get back to it. Great description within the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy stories. From my web site bookreviewsandmore. I received a free copy of this book for a honest review.

    19. Really interesting to be thrust into a world of magic with Sages, vampires, wizards, faeries, etc. I loved the characters and found myself literally laughing out loud at the witty banter amongst them. The only negative is that it ends with a To Be Continued and i haven't found Book 2. Other than that i absolutely loved it.

    20. I sat down to read a chapter or two before doing other things and by the time I had paused, I had read over half the book. The book has a very unique and interesting setting and it sucks you right in. I am very much looking forward to seeing how this story unfolds in future books.
