    1. I liked this one. I liked that it had great romance but so clean. Rachel was a little hard to relate to at the beginning because she thought SO differently than me. But she changes. And I loved the epilogue. Great getaway book.

    2. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. No other consideration was offered, expected or received. This is one of those stories where you're not really sure how you feel about it.About 56% in, the story gets intense, with lots of action, death, treasure and even romance. Up until that point, though, there are some very slow moments. The basis of the story – her finding a way to go back in time, finding herself back in 1711 – is really exciting. I liked that the whole [...]

    3. I received a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This is a great adventure story, with time travel and lost treasure. It was a fun easy read and although characterized as “Christian Fiction”, it’s not in your face. The only times you notice is when Rachel sees John’s cross and questions its significance, and also the fact that this novel was a clean read, one which I enjoyed very much. I can’t imagine jumping off a cliff to end my life, and end up going back in time 29 [...]

    4. THE DREAMER completely entranced me. The first few pages weren't very gripping, and I worried that I wouldn't be drawn in. But as soon as Rachel woke up on Tucker's ship, I was hooked. It has the same feel to me as ENCHANTED by Orson Scott Card, which I thoroughly enjoyed as well. These characters are so well-developed, and have such depth to them. As each was introduced, I immediately had a clear image of them, and a firm grasp of their personality. Being a writer myself, I know how hard that is [...]

    5. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I very much enjoyed the book. Rachel Madera is a university professor who is dissatisfied with her current subjects taught and wishes to pursue a scholarly course of study in time travel, much to the chagrin of her colleagues. She becomes so desperate to prove herself correct and receive the accolades due her that she throws herself off a high cliff, landing in the cold, choppy ocean in the year 1714. And that is as far as I will go with sp [...]

    6. I think this is the first time that a FREE book has been this good for me. I just loved this book. I loved the story, I loved the time travel piece, I love a good pirate story, I loved the sweet romance, I loved the characters(which at the beginning I wasn't so sure, but they totally grew on me) and I loved how it all ended. I always know when I book is a "hit" for me when I re-read my favorite parts. I think this is one of those books that occasionally I am just going to re-read the whole book. [...]

    7. Here is what 'Book Lover' said about 'The Dreamer' on . She gave it 5 stars!I must admit when I began reading I found it kind of strange(different might be a better word), the story was good enough to keep going and I'm so glad I did!!! WOW!!! This is such a wonderful book!!! I laughed and cried, Please give it a try, you will love it too I'm sure.

    8. I read this book in the dark, using only the synopsis as a reference. I like it, it's a good book about time travel. And it's nice that hasn't used the erotic, it is rare to find romantic book without sex.

    9. This book is unbelievably fabulous.Captain - “We are going ashore, and you are going to stay there. Forever. If I have to bind and gag you to ensure it, I will.” I smiled, exhilarated and revived, feeling more affection for him than ever before. “I’m so happy!” In my exuberance, I flung my arms around him. “And I know you well enough to see that your ostensible anger is only unconscious concern for my safety, Captain, and I think it’s sweet.” You know how on you have those autho [...]

    10. I must admit that I'm a great fan of stories with adventure and an element of romance. And I love a good pirate story. This book has all three.Rachel Madera is a smart, highly intelligent young woman, and a professor at the university. Her life is all about books and knowledge. Until one night when she dreams she can fly. It changes the course of her learning, and she soaks up all the knowledge she can on time travel. Sounds kind of crazy, right? It works well in this novel as professor Madera ge [...]

    11. The story overall was intriguing and an interesting fast paced read. The relationships between the different characters was sparked with romance. I loved the Captain; he was my favorite character in the book. The Captain protected Rachel and was just a lovable hard ass outward but sweet inward guy character. I found the start of the book to be confusing; I did not understand Rachel’s reasoning or characterization in why she was doing what she was. It just kind of started and there was no build [...]

    12. I had my doubts about this when I first started; I didn’t hit it off with our main character Rachel. But, I knew my good friend Deb loved it, so I buckled down and before I knew it I was sucked into the story. I loved The Captain. He was a great lead and he really kept me wanting to read more. I also loved the pirate Captain Fredericks, he was hilarious. I even thought the villain was well done. My only problem with the book was Rachel; I just didn’t care for her. Luckily, as the book progre [...]

    13. This book is a great reprieve from "Regency older man meets breathtakingly beautiful girl at a rout and they flirt until he proposes at the end of the season".I really enjoyed this. Abbey wrote it well, my internal editor only bringing me up short a few times. There is also a marked lack of typos. Anymore, it seems that ebooks + romance = needs two more rounds of editing. I also loved how much Rachel grew throughout the story, and how completely oblivious she was to the symptoms of love. Made fo [...]

    14. I really enjoyed this book. I loved how the author created a romance that was engaging without sex scenes, a plus for me because I actually don't really like romance too much unless it's well done, and this one was. I loved Rachel, she was so smart, analytical, and yet so oblivious. The plot was great as well. The only thing I didn't really like, (and this is miniscule) is the cover. Isn't Rachel blonde? :P That's it!

    15. This book was a very pleasant surprise. I like historical romances but am usually leary of the time travel ones, they usually seem cheesy to me. This book was not cheesy! It was wonderful! The main character is a woman so caught up in her job and research that life is something she ignores. But life will not be ignored. She finds herself in another time with adventure staring her in the face. It's worth reading.

    16. I wasn't sure I was going to like this one, after reading the first chapter. But soon, I had a hard time putting it down, and in the end, I found this novel WELL worth reading. Can't wait to read more by the author.

    17. First book I have read in over 8 years!! It took me 3 days to have this finished. I loved how you could feel the sea, dress as she did, feel her confusion and experience her fears and joys! So excited to see what comes next!!!

    18. I could not put this book down! I was captivated by its characterization and storyline. Wow! This is definitely a book that I will be recommending to all of my friends. LOVED it!!

    19. The Dreamer was a strange story. I hardly know what to make of it. My one star doesn't mean that I hated it, but I've come to the conclusion that I didn't really like it at all either. I didn't realize it was a time-travel adventure, but nonetheless, I plunged ahead, despite the slightly different beginning. It told about a scholarly, ambitious young woman who was trying to figure out the mysteries of life and change the world. She was convinced it was possible to travel through time. So she jum [...]

    20. Inspirational adventurous and filled with action and romance is what make a good book. Well that is what I look for in a book and "The Dreamer" is all that and more. Always finding the meaning behind the story without being in your face or preached. This is what I found in this book so eloquently written and descriptive in between its pages. It allows your imagination to sore with possibilities of a live lived in the past. I know I have often wondered what would we do if we could go back in time [...]

    21. I'm going to start off quite honest. I'm conflicted about this book. There were aspects I loved, there were aspects I was not fond it. I went back and forth on how I felt about The Dreamer, but in the end I finished the book and I'm glad that I did.The beginning on the novel (pre-cliff dive) was a little confusing - but I'll just chalk that up to the flu I was coming down with. I got that Rachel gave up her life/career/friends for her belief in time travel, but I didn't understand why she was so [...]

    22. 2.5 starsDid I enjoy this book: Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book. I was looking forward to it after reading the synopsis but I just couldn't get into it. The premise sounded so interesting and captivating. The book failed to deliver on the promises in the synopsis. I didn't want to finish the book. (I did, but I did not want to.)One problem I had was that I did not like the main character, Rachel. She just wasn't all that likeable. Also, for as intelligent and educated that she was made [...]

    23. I was going to begin this review by stating how the book begins on such an elegantly written note, but I just want to cut straight through to the heart of what I want to write about, and that is the main character of this story, Rachel. Rachel, I must say, has to be my favourite character throughout this whole thing, the captain being second, of course, mainly because of the fact that she is just too intelligent for her own good. From the moment she lands on Captain Mallory Tucker's ship, right [...]

    24. For anyone who knows me, you know that time travel stories are not my thing. But once in a while, I step outside my comfort zone and read something different. And this was an excellent decision! I loved this book from start to finish. It was romantic, and I really did not find it sappy. In fact, I decided I would like an 18th century captain, too! Rachel has the right ideaay This book has it all--pirates, love, time travel, history, and a surprise ending. I say that because this book is very dif [...]

    25. This one took me a little bit to get into. The main character, Rachel, was annoying and infuriating. She's a highly logical mind doing her best to rationalize everything. She's completely oblivious to normal human interactions. I could see her as a character on "The Big Bang Theory," actually. And as the novel progressed, I found I actually enjoyed this character quite a bit. She grows and changes, but never loses that zany spark that all mad scientists have. This is categorized as Christian fict [...]

    26. I like books and movies that are not predictable. Although I suspected that Rachel would wrangle out of her predicaments, I could not guess how and found myself hoping for her and the captain and excitingly reading page after page until it was revealed.I loved Captain Frederick the most, though all the characters were richly developed with a clear image of each formed in my thoughts. The ending was perfect as I could not predict how the story would wrap it all up in a way that would be satisfying [...]

    27. I was actually excited to read this based on some rave reviews but I just didn't get it. There were a lot of inconsistencies and the author used descriptive words that didn't match the dialogue or the characters' moods. Also, the characters shifted mood for no apparent reason. I couldn't see the reasoning for some of their choices. I thought the plot and overall storyline was good, but it felt disjointed and didn't flow. I did like the importance the author placed of being a wife and mother at t [...]

    28. 4.75 starsI've never read anything like this and don't know exactly what to say. Have you ever read a book and when you finished, you had to readjust your mind momentarily as you came back to reality? I'm doing that right now. At times, I was jarred out of this extraordinary world but overall it was an amazing journey for all of us.

    29. I was suprised how much I loved this book! I haven't read a book about time travel that I really liked. The language and vocabulary in this book is beautiful. The characters are strong, but not perfect. The plot moves along quickly. There is passion and romance, but it is absolutely clean! Thanks for writing such an enchanting book!

    30. A WONDERFUL, CLEAN ADVENTURE STORYThis story was such a delightful surprise. I loved every minute of it and could not put it down. A delicious desert for the mind starting from the first words to the very end. May Nicole Abby writes with great heart and story telling. I was just sucked into the story and could not stop reading until the finish.
