    1. Having spent 33 months living in the USA over a period of 6 years, I came to really enjoy the people and customs that I came across. Having spent time with the author (who now resides in Tennessee) I got to appreciate his awesome South African humor on numerous occasions, and loved his first book: "The Racist's Guide to the People of South Africa". In my opinion a must read as well.I really looked forward to this book and kept asking him when it would be finished. Finally I got the message that [...]

    2. I found the South African version of this hilarious. After reading this take on the US, I feel like I have to apologise to every single American I know. The derisive tone far outweighs the moments of hilarity - and while I get that satirical books like these are often out to cause a stir, I do think there's a difference between tongue-in-cheek humour and just being blatantly offensive. I love satire and enjoy a good laugh at our and other countries' expense, but this? No. Just. No.I should add t [...]

    3. Fantastic and light-hearted take on the people of the world's greatest nation. Kilpatrick picks apart the American way of life, as well as the classic American stereotypes, in a way that is as hilarious as it is accurate. Many laugh-out-loud moments and an absolute must-read for anyone who has traveled to the USA (or lived there).

    4. This was incredibly funny, well written and a joy to read! I laughed out loud so many times at his descriptions which I can totally laugh about. The illustrations are wonderful and the best I have ever seen in a book!

    5. Quite a learning experience about the American culture. Not as funny as the prequel, but that could just be because I relate more to South African culture. Nevertheless, a great read.
