    1. This was a pretty good freebie that I've had and hadn't read yet. I liked the characters and the story. There was suspense, emotions, a little action, some tense moments, steamy scenes, and a good ending. I wouldn't mind reading this again and would look forward to reading more in this series. I held my breath a little, wanted to ka-pow a few times, got a little warm and pretty much enjoyed reading this. This had me turning pages pretty good too, although not exactly like a hurricane. A great de [...]

    2. Okter seeing the smaltzy cover of this book on Good Reads, I almost didn't add it to my list. The Kindle book jacket is not the same. And yes, it's true, I do sometimes judge a book by its cover. With that being said, so far so good on this novel.

    3. There was nothing special about this story. It's was an alright read. I'm giving it 2 stars because some of the more intimate scenes were pretty good, otherwise it would have just received one star. It just a boring read to me. I mean Burke's character wasn't working for me (read below in my questions/comments area), the evidence (or lack thereof) on Eve and the story itself. It was boring. Questions/Comments:1. So at the beginning, Eve and Richard are in his porsche. At one point: "gravel ping [...]

    4. ImposterThis is the first book in this series. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

    5. I enjoyed the book very much. I listened to the book from my library, and the narrator did an excellent job. I plan on reading the entire series.

    6. Good bookYou people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so. Shelley MA

    7. This was one of my books that I had storing around in my kindle. I am trying to get my books down to under the 1,000's lolthis was a great crime/suspense book. Eve was a police officer. She quit the force, and decided to get her PHD in chemistry. She got a really great job making perfumes, and face cream. Every year Eve goes to a convention where she meets all her old friends, and she listens to lectures to find better ways to make her perfume, and different makeup. This year her life was going [...]

    8. Wow, colour me surprised. I got this book free, from an author I had never heard from, and didn't expect much. Except for some improbability in the quickness in the getting together of the protagonists (the male protagonist Burke moves pretty quickly from dislike and distrust to caring and affection for the female protagonist Eve when the time comes), the characters well well drawn, the suspense was solid (I didn't know who the 'bad guy' was until Burke did!) and the climatic face-off was pretty [...]

    9. Job Burke is a CIA operative who has come to apprehend Richard Patterson and his accomplice Dr. Eve Collins of developing and marketing a chemical weapon. Patterson dies suddenly and Eve is left on her own to handle the fallout. Eve maintains she is innocent of developing the weapon and doesn't know who the buyer is. Burke doesn't believe Eve to be innocence and when someone tries to kill her, he suspects she has an accomplice/buyer who has turned on her. IMPOSTER has a good story line and very [...]

    10. Imposter: The Protectors Series -- Book One by Karen Fenech, This was a good fast paced suspense that kept you in the dark on who the bad guy was until the author chose to reveal it. Eve Collins life hasn’t gone the way she expected it to. After losing her child in an accident then her marriage imploding she also lost her job with the LAPD as a forensic specialist. She is now a chemist that makes perfumes along with her partner, Richard. What she doesn’t realize is that Richard has created a [...]

    11. I would say this is a true 2.75 stars. When I finished I thought, "Eh, that was ok." I really didn't by the Eden was a story. She talked about being in forensics which in most departments doesn't mean your actually POST certified and street ready. I probably would odd bought that. But then other indications were she was on the street but also in forensics. Which also possible in a smaller department but she would have been much more street savvy. Burke seemed to flip way to fast from she's a wit [...]

    12. WOW I really liked this book, I was almost to the end before I worked out who the bad guy was. Didn't see that coming. WONDERFUL work. In my book this book is well worth the read and reread for later on. Ms. Fenech my hats off to you, not many can fool me and I usually have the bad guy worked out early on. You did a wonderful outstanding job writing this book. I would have liked to have seen how the romance played out. Did they marry, have kids? It was so sad that she lost her little girl and it [...]

    13. Eve and Richard were traveling to a chemist convention, when they were being tailed. trying to get away Richard turned pale. eve was able to stop the car. Two men came out of a sedan. Richard was dead and she was told by the CIA agent she was involved in a terrorist plot. Eve couldn't believe this was happening. John Burke was now her new partner at the chemist convention. This was part of a box set called Dangerous Dozen. I enjoyed this story very much and liked the connection of the characters. [...]

    14. OK Suspence Not So OK romanceI found this book while searching the romance/suspense categories. I found the expense part OK but the romance was definitely lacking in my opinion. I don't think you can throw in a couple sex scenes and call it a romance book and this didn't happen until almost the end of the book. The suspense part was just OK. I finished it because I wanted to find out who the bad guy was. I think a good suspense book lead you to have several different ideas, but I did not find th [...]

    15. IMPOSTER*****Eve is a chemist going to a conference with her partner Richard. When they wreck another car pulls up and informs Eve she is being charged for terrorism. Burke is a secret CIA agent tasked to stop chemical terrorism. Eve is implicated along with her partner who dies in the wreck . When two attempts to kill Eve fail, Burke takes her into hiding until they figure out who Richard's partner is. I read the reviews and there were several negative one. I almost didn't read it but once I st [...]

    16. The chase scene at the beginning of this story set my mood and tone and possibly my opinion of the book. Some areas of the writing didn't make sense, which made the visualization difficult for me. For example, the car made a hairpin right turn throwing her to the passenger door. A sharp, sudden turn to the right would pull your body towards the left (drivers side). There seemed to be a mix of settings although it was supposed to be set in the United States. Tough to get past the writing that did [...]

    17. This was a fast-paced thriller with great suspense. Eve Collins, a chemist for a perfume company, is accused by the CIA of developing and marketing a chemical weapon. When she is taken into custody by CIA Operative John Burke, it becomes clear that someone is trying to kill Eve. He takes her to his secret cabin to keep her safe, and as they get to know each other better, they both fight a mutual attraction as they work to discover who is out to kill them.

    18. I have to say I am surprised by all of the negative reviews and I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Yes, I did have to suspend believe a tad at times, but overall I thought it had a good mix of action, mystery, and romance to keep me interested. I liked both Eve and Burke and thought they were complex characters. I'll admit that the fact that Eve was a former police officer felt a bit unrealistic at times, but not enough to turn me off from the story. Looking forward to book 2!

    19. In general, quite a good book. fast paced, well written, the plot and the build up are actually quite good and make you want to read a bit further and further. Sadly, the ending is a big let down - it's rushed and it's disappointing to see all this build up being just resolved in one paragraph. it felt as if the author had a deadline she just couldn't miss. i just hope book two is a bit better structured in that sense.

    20. I loved reading this book. It kept me captivated from the first page. This book is full of suspense that kept me wanting to read. I truly enjoyed the story line. It was easy for me to follow throughout. The characters were awesome. Karen Fenech has a way for the reader to relate to each character and understand them. Well written. I'm looking forward to reading Book Two in this series. Definitely recommended

    21. Wasn't a bad read, but wasn't great either. The characters were somewhat cheesy and predictable. The love story was good. Would've been better. if the love story didn't transition the whole story into a series of unbelievable yet predictable acts. He became weakened by his love for her, and she became "super cop". Then they flip flopped roles again. And after a while of their role.flip flopping, it became harder to figure.out whose head was.hoppedo.

    22. With complex characters and intricate plot line this story grips the reader from the onset. Twists in the plot keep the reader engrossed in the story. Eve and John are well researched and planned leads in the story and the interaction between the two keep you, the reader, on your toes. Difficult to put down. Definitely worth reading.

    23. If you want something easy to read, this book is for you.I didn't enjoy the beginning very much I don't know why but I had a weird feeling, something about the car accident didn't seem quite right. But once I read further, it was a nice read.Still I think it would have been awesome if Eve was the really bad guy in the end it would have given an unexpected twist.

    24. The storyline wasn't consistent--seeming to jump around without a great deal of logic. One of the villains has a heart attack at the moment he is being chased by operatives of this secret agency. Rather convenient and unlikely. The ultimate villain was a huge surprise to me--I didn't see that coming at all.

    25. Lots of Thrills, Suspense, and RomanceLots of Thrills, Suspense, and RomanceDon't miss reading this exciting thriller and intriguing, covert operation to stop chemical warfare from happening. A must read of an innocent business relationship that ends in flurry of death, attempted murder, and romance to keep you on the edge of your chair. Well done!
