    1. This is a book of contemporary images arranged chronologically with descriptions of the clothing depicted therein. Paintings, cartoons, etc some very rare and unusual. The ONLY reason I don't give this 5 stars is because it is in black and white and some of the pictures are not very good reproductions. Ribeiro's text is (as always) superb, but this is a book OF pictures, ABOUT pictures, and some of them are pretty hard to see.
