    1. With chapter headings such as “Something Evil,” “Angry Spirits,” and “Ghosts of Alcatraz,” it is unsurprising that author Nick Gordon’s text sensationalizes Alcatraz prison. The first page of Chapter One states: “Something is in there. Something evil. You back out of the cell. A loud clang echoes through the halls. You scream.     2. This is a nice non-fiction and non-intimidating, hi-interest read for reluctant readers and young readers. It is incredibly short but the pictures and the graphics will draw readers into wanting to learn more. I've briefly book talked this series to our school's six-graders and watched them literally reach out and grab the books from my hands. It is one of the book series titled The Scariest Places on Earth.

    3. Tour Alcatraz? I don't think so! This little book does make me want to read more about this scarey place though.
