    1. Review posted on Passion for PagesMore like 3.5 starsThe Whispers of the Sprite is one of those books that make me think I should start reading more YA novels. Especially paranormal YA novels like this one. I admit, the summary didn’t really pull me in, and if it hadn’t been for the paranormal element I probably would have passed. But I’m really glad I didn’t! Ania leads an ordinary life with a controlling mother until she is finally able to escape and head off to college. But things don [...]

So a huge THANK YOU to Joanna Mazurkiewicz for giving me a chance to read and review her wonderful book!*I loved this book! I did not expect to like it this much. It had me hooked from the beginning. The synopsis of the book didn't really appeal to me so I was very unsure when I started the book. But I was blown away! This book is amazing! The story is full of suspe [...]

    3. This book makes me so sad. Not because the content is sad, but because I couldn’t finish reading it. I absolutely love the cover and the summary sounds exciting. Unfortunately, the story itself doesn’t live up to either. I made it most of the way through the book, but gave up when I realized there really wasn’t any plot developing. The start of the book was exciting. Ania’s overbearing mother is a mess with her leaving for school, and on the very first day away Ania is attacked. But that [...]

    4. As you can tell from the rating, I thought this story was okay.I wasn't as hooked as I thought I would be. It seemed to kind of drag on, and I kept putting off reading it because the main characters kind of made me mad. They were off and on, the guy was confusing, and I didn't really like the main character. I'm sorry, but I won't be reading the next one.

    5. The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a copy of The Whispers of the Sprite from the author for review.Ania is very happy when she moves to Swansea city in Wales where she will be attending the University there. She has been living with her very controlling mother in London. She is excited and anxious to start her new life in Wales without her mother. In her new life she will have no one to tell her what to do all the time. I liked Ania but there were times when she [...]

    6. For more of my reviews visit losttobooks Rating: Somewhere between 2.5 and 3 stars. This book created some original characters that were interesting and exciting to read about. I love it when a new paranormal creature is developed as it brings a whole new set of ideas to read about. I enjoyed the concept of Sprites as it was unusual and I haven't read anything like it before so I found myself reading on to find out more about their nature. I also enjoyed the twists in this book as it kept me want [...]

    7. Note: I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.Ania’s life changes when she is stabbed late one night on the beach. After he incident she starts to be able to see spirits, one in particular is Gabriel. The rub of the situation, Gabriel and Ania could not touch one another.Even though the plot idea is interesting an original the writing style is immature and shaky with too much description. I found myself wanting to skip through parts and the characters did not seem [...]

    8. I genuinely hate to give such a low rating of any writer's work, but this story just isn't well written. First of all, the tale could have been told quite well with half as many words. Frequently the choices of words were poorly made. The story itself is disjointed and unnecessarily unconnected. There is a lack of focus during the telling with the author/narrator jumping from paragraphs of minutia to large passages of time, days, even weeks in the midst of a paragraph. Then it just ends. Overall [...]

    9. This is a must read for everyone. I loved the two main characters, Ania & Gabriel. The blossoming relationship between the two was magical. It didn't take me long to read it because I couldn't put it down. I had to keep turning the pages to find out what happened next. The book left me wanting more And i cannot wait for the next instalment :)

    10. What a memory this book will leave.Crying is obvious. But the love they share is a new feeling that will be left forever in your heart. Heartbreak, is an understatement. There were times I held my breathe and didnt realize I was holding it. This is such a well written, amazingly paranormal love story. You will not want to miss reading this book. Heart wrenching, breathe holding, ugly crying, but very lovable and Hateable character's. You will be truly sorry you didnt read this book. O am glad tha [...]

    11. Two worlds so far apart. Two people in love, Ania and Gabriel, one human, one sprite and circumstances where they can't be together. Other beings are trying to kill Ania and she doesn't know why. Good book! Good storyline! I received a complimentary copy of this book.

    12. I am always a little hesitant to write a review that is less than complimentary of a book. I am not in the business of bashing authors because I don't personally like their book. And, I want to be supportive of independent and relatively unknown authors. That being said, when I read a book like this, I feel that it is my job as a reviewer to set aside the possible hurt feelings of the author and tell my readers my honest opinion. I so wanted to like this book. The premise sounded interesting: A [...]

    13. I have to first say that the story line really captured me. I have never really been into faerie stories, but this one intrigued me.This book is about a girl, Ania, that moves away from her home to get away from her controlling mother only to discover that the world is so much bigger than she thought. Ania meets what she thinks is a guardian angel after she is attacked one evening while walking on the beach. Only, this is no guardian angel. This man she meets is a faerie named Gabriel. These spe [...]

    14. Ania is finally away from her controlling mother. But the perfect life she was expecting is nowhere near. After being stabbed she starts seeing people that it supposed to not be there. Her life becomes a turbulent ride between someone trying to kill her and falling in love with a magical creature. The Whispers of the Sprite is intriguing since the first sentence. The story drags you into the mind of Ania and we live the story through her eyes. A 22-year-old girl, going to University in Swansea ( [...]

    15. This story started with such potential. However, the more I read the more unpleasant the story became. The main character was so selfish and self-absorbed that I quickly lost any relatability with her. Oh, my friend just died, but all I can think about is my forbidden love. Oh, some woman was literally just killed in front of me, but oooh my forbidden love! And the love story itself was miserable. The two had nothing in common other than pure animal chemistry, but surely this is love, not infatu [...]

    16. More like 3.5 starsThe Whispers of the Sprite by Mazurkiewicz, was a very very interesting story with new paranormal creatures which was very fresh and welcome plus with good plot. In my opinion it would be nice if there were more info about their nature in a dialogue form, for example when Gabriel and Ania had their meetings. The character of Ania was very weird, so lonely and whiny some times was very hard from me not to use bad language and drinking was disappointing! Even if she understood t [...]

    17. This book didn't really do anything for me - you know that the book is going to be hard going when you feel absolutely nothing for the main characters apart from disdain. The main female comes across as very self-centred, whiney and a BIG drama queen. Even the male lead says during the book "I don't have time for your drama"! She is constantly using people, forgetting to keep in touch with the friends she does have and getting drunk. The male in this isn't much better. He is the Sprite of the stor [...]

    18. Ania is suddenly able to see people she shouldn't and begins to learn about a whole world she never knew existed, and falls in love with the Sprite (fairy) who is assigned to watch over her. The story itself is interesting, but it is slow in places and seems to drag. There are also some critical scenes that we are told about, but don't actually see. It made their relationship a bit difficult for me to understand. We don't really see the development so I found it hard to believe. I didn't really [...]

    19. A fantastic Y.A read for all ages.Ania lives an ordinary life with a controlling mother. Until finally she leaves for college. On her first night in a strange city, she is attacked when she wakes in the hospital. She discovers a strange new ability she can see sprites-or fairies. Sprites are assigned a human to watch over. Gabriel is Ania,s guardian fairy protector. Gabriel is shocked Ania can see him, humans cannot know about them. The story follows Ania and Gabriel on a journey of love and dis [...]

    20. I got this as a free download from amazon so I didn't really have any expectations. The plot itself wasn't really that bad, but i found myself skipping large parts because the descriptions where just boring and dragging on. Don't get me wrong there are books with a lot of details where you really read every word and are glad about it. But that wasn't the chase here. Then the characters started out okay but the didn't really grow on me and they also didn't develop much. So i wouldn't really recomm [...]

    21. This is a must read book for everyone! I love the two main charactors, Ania & Gabriel. The blossoming relationship between the two was magical. It didnt take me long to read it because i couldnt out it down. I had to keep turning the pages to find out what happened next. The book left me wanting more and i cannot wait for the next installment :)

    22. A paranormal romance, yes, and some good, interesting ideas, yes, fantastical creatures, yes and overall a reasonable read. I like the idea of the Sprites and some of the writing flowed well.An interesting read.

    23. Am totally disappointed with the book. It was poorly written and the grammar was atrocious. On the plus side the concept of the story was interesting and perhaps had more thought gone into the book I might have felt it a better read.

    24. Great StorylineI really liked the way she finds out who she really is but the ending mixed me up. I though it would have a different ending. Hope there will be more to this story to explain what really happened.

    25. another old freebie on my Kindle. Not too keen on the characters but the premise is interesting. Poorly edited with a few sentences that needed a couple of looks to understand. However the story eventually got me hooked so I've got book 2!

    26. The storyline was very interesting - I liked it. There was poor sentence structure here and there, but the storyline and characters were good. I am going to try and find the sequel online.
