    1. This is somewhere in the 2.5 star range for me. It started off funny, but sort of lost me along the way. I liked the idea of it, but I wanted a little more of a feel for Dennis and Martin other than just knowing Dennis is rich and Martin is his boyfriend. I was actually more interested in them and their dynamic than the gift giving, but that isn't the focus of the story. So much of the book was also telling, not showing, especially when it came to a lot of Martin's reactions. All in all it just [...]

    2. **2.5 stars**This was odd. I don't know really how to describe it other than "over the top." Basically, the story centers around Martin and his extremely wealthy boyfriend, Dennis, who likes to gift him crazy things for the 12 days of Christmas. Though the premise was cute, I didn't like the main characters that much and didn't connect with them as a couple. For one, I thought that Dennis was kind of pushy with his gifts and didn't seem to have an issue with making Martin uncomfortable. I felt l [...]

    3. I received this book as an ARC through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. This story had a cute premise, but it quickly became just too absurd to be believed. The ridiculously rich boyfriend, an indoor pool, a home theater, and an elevator felt more like a caricature than a real person, and I never really got a handle on who the main character was at all. The gifts started out a bit silly and just went south from there. By the time the eye rolling, overdone finale came I had lost all in [...]

    4. I don't know how to rate this over the top short story that had me cringing in places and lulzing in others. And no sex on page, btw.  Full review to come.Naughty, for sure. Over the top, definitely. Yet oddly amusing, even if the sex was only alluded to. Also, copious amounts of alcohol played a role.

    5. The Twelve Days Of Dennis was built around a really cute idea. Martin's boyfriend Dennis starts sending him sexy little presents, a new one each day with a short note attached. Each chapter starts with the little piece of the carol.A condom in a jockstrap, two lace panties and we see Martin's reaction plus hear a little bit about what happened with the items the night before. It's not until quite a way into the book that we actually meet Dennis.I loved the idea but somehow it lost it's lustre abo [...]

    6. Hi :) Time for the next review! As I just started receiving Netgalley ARCs for honest reviews, you will see several in the coming days, but I always try to read a few just for fun challenges :P (and though I don't read very fast, there are still quite a few of those as well). Check out the blog I just started reviewing in to see more of my review: brandilynreviewsbooks/The Facts: ARC; Released by LT3P on December 18th, 2013The cover: I think it works really great for this book. You see the typic [...]

    7. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.Dennis gives his boyfriend, Martin a present everyday (well, nearly everyday) in the spirit of the classic song 'The 12 Days of Christmas'. Sweet and funny. Dennis gives the presents a modern spin like condoms and lace panties but there is one hilarious day where he decides to go traditional and gives Martin live geese. I say nearly ever day because days 8-12 are done in one night via Dennis hiring Martin's favorite singer and a [...]

    8. You can guess from the title that this book takes a hint from the song. On the first day of Christmas Dennis gives his lover something sexy and kinky. We read all about Martin receiving the package, talking to the delivery man, opening the package. And then nothing. Then on the next day Martin mentions the awesome sex he had the night before. This continues through the first five days. Then things speed up and we read about Martin and Dennis together. They're funny, they're loving, this book is [...]

    9. Oh lordy this was very funny, and so outrageous. I didn't quite believe Dennis could execute all those plans. What I liked most were all the things that weren't said. Like how rich Dennis must be and what Martin does for a job and how the boys met. All the little details that we are often over-subjected to(can I phrase it like that?) are not important here, even though the narrative is infused with gaps.My only disappointment was that Martin kept drinking so much, he forgot a lot of it. What a s [...]

    10. While the 12 days of gift giving is a fun idea, the gifts given here were a little out there. Some of them were great, some creative, but some. just cray-cray! We're introduced to Martin receiving gift 1 from Dennis right away. The story is somewhat segmented & doesn't really flow but it's a quick read & has some fun moments. I would like some of day 7 please.I was provided with a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

    11. I think that sums my reaction up nicely. Okay maybe the running away part is overkill, but there were plenty "wtf?!?" moments.

    12. I found it very hard to get into and stay in the story with the way it was written, and after giving it three tries, I had to put it aside. It's an original concept, but it didn't work for me.

    13. The concept for this story is just as the title would suggest – it’s the twelve days of Christmas, Dennis style. Which means there are condoms in the jock strap instead of partridges in the pear tree and the golden rings belong on a cock, not a finger. I loved this idea. The story would have gotten a 4 had it continued the way it started. Martin is getting one delivery a day starting on December 14 from his very rich lover, Dennis. The gifts are all sexual in nature and come with a note from [...]

    14. Things this story contains (in no particular order):* the 1% being extravagantly wasteful with their money* un- and undernegotiated kinks* public humiliation* gay dudes suffering from subtle but still icky misogyny* irresponsible gifting of live animals* two protagonists I could barely tell apart* a character who spent an entire scene replying to everything that was said to him by saying, "How rude!" in a Jar Jar Binks voice* sex scenes offered not on-page but in clunky "as-you-know-Bob" discuss [...]

    15. Hmmm, where to start? I'd like to say that I enjoyed this story thoroughly, but then I won't be completely honest with you. Was it amazing? Sadly no. Was it good? Eh, nope. It wasn't horrible, it was Okay, odd and over the top, but okay.Martin keeps receiving these ridiculous gifts from his boyfriend Dennis and as the days passed the gifts keep getting weirder and weirder. Some were fun and I enjoyed reading Martin's reaction to them. Others, well I didn't see their point.Anyway, that's not here [...]

    16. 3.5 Paws! Everyone knows the 12 days of Christmas song. But trust me, this was just hilarious to read and I couldn’t put it down once I started it.In this short novella, we get to spend time with Martin as his boyfriend Dennis decides to do the 12 Days of Dennis this year. I have yet to read a book that made me laugh so much, yet you could tell that there was a lot of thought put into the story. I mean honestly, some of the stuff that was brought up for the Christmas gifts was just awesome.A c [...]

    17. To read more of my reviews, please visit onsilverwingz/201This is a cute, fun short story for Christmas. Martin is surprised by his lover, Dennis, when he receives sexy gifts several days in a row before Christmas. Martin seems like an easy going guy and Dennis is on the fun, kinky side, but he definitely does everything out of love.I would love to know more about these two characters and their back story. Dennis is clearly rich beyond words but there's nothing in the story about how Dennis and [...]

    18. The 12 Days of Dennis… hmm what can I say about this one? I really don’t know what I think about it. So lets start with the easiest question…Did I enjoy it? Yes I did.Was it what I expected? Not even remotely.Would I recommend it to my friends? Sure. If they are looking for a light holiday read, absolutely. What is my favorite thing about the book? It doesn’t take itself too seriously. What else did you like about it? It never does what I expect it to do. Every time I said “oh this is go [...]

    19. The first few chapters of this were a lot of fun. Dennis sends his boyfriend Martin a gift for the 12 days of Christmas. The first few boxes were funny and I loved the letters Dennis left explaining what happened with the previous gift. But as things continued they became more over the top, the pacing kept switching and slowing down, and by the time the end came I just skimmed. A wonderful premise that just didn't quite make it.

    21. Dennis definitely gets points for creativity in my book! :) I thought this was funny! I enjoyed this short story! And I love how Martin just accepted it because come on, the intentions were good! ;)
