    1. The only thorough biography the guy who inspired Elvis, James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince (!) with his still-untouchable moves (and that voice!). Tony Douglas is pretty close to Nick Tosches in his appetite for crime and genealogy, so the subtitle lives up to his promise. Alas, this is not so great with the gonzo prose, but I'm giving it five stars because nobody else woulda bothered, and let's face it, our pop culture would be a desert without Jackie.
