    1. Love this series. I've only read the first three books (e-book price issues again). Got this novella plus two others in this series for $0.99. (Guess what I'm reading next)Derek and Karina were hot together. Great chemistry no matter where they were. Serial killer to catch. Lots of the previous peeps make appearances and help out. I just want to hate his ex-wife but she's hilarious in all her nastiness.

    2. 4.5 'trust means everything'stars“I’m worried that you won’t love me when I tell you my story, and I love you so much I think I’ll die if you can’t love me back.”BlurbObsessedDerek Brighton has become one of Dallas’s finest detectives through a combination of discipline and obsession. Once he has a target in his sights, nothing can stop him. When he isn’t solving homicides, he applies the same intensity to his playtime at Sanctum, a secretive BDSM club. Unfortunately, no amount o [...]

    3. 4.5 StarsSo this was quite the scrumptious little nugget. In fact, now that I'm done, I must go download all the other books in this series. Stat. Because even though my kindle is full, I can always just buy another one make room for more.

    4. How is it that this novella turned into one of the best in the series? We've met Derek Brighton and Karina Mills a couple of books prior to this with the suggestion that they seem to be each other's adversary with sexual tension simmering underneath. After Derek's marriage crumbled, he's pretty sure what he needed this time--a 24/7 D/s relationship. Karina is not the type who would give up control except during playtime. Despite the sexual tension between them, they try to stay away from each othe [...]

    5. The suspense was pretty weak as it was obvious very early on who was the killer and was and plot was very predictable.but I didn't read it for the suspense so that didn't cause me a problem ;)

    6. I jumped over all the other books in this series. It may have helped a little to know about the other characters in this series, but it doesn't make this book less understandable. Derek is a dominant who needs to protect and care for a submissive. When he can't control everything, he isn't happy. Derek's got issues, least of all his crazy ex-wife Maia. When a case comes to him where his private life crosses his work life as a cop, all hell breaks loose. There is a killer out for submissives and t [...]

For those of you who are unaware of the concept here is the basic explanation:1001 Dark Nights, inspired by The Arabian Nights: Tales from 1001 Nights. In the original, Scheherazade desperately attempts to entertain her husband, the King of Persia, with nightly stories so that he will postpone [...]

    8. I love reading Lexi Blake her books are always well written and full of action. I have been waiting for awhile for a book about Derek Brighton the war and his ex-wife Maia really messed him up he has trust issues. I liked him two books ago I think he showed up in Ian and Charlie's book along with Karina both of them had some issues she was a drug addicted teen who turned tough PI. Derek and Karina are thrown together when a serial killer targets submissives from the local BDSM scene ( bad clubs [...]

    9. Sweet little gem here even if the villain was not a myster from the very start but hey I loved it.Karina is a great PI with more heart than money and she lives to help her customers. And when she becomes the next victim of serial killer there is one cop ready to help her and protect her. He incidentally is also a Dom and Karina is a sub, what a coincidence! LOLKarina is really a great character while Derek is more an acquired taste with his fanatic hate for germs and his need to control everythi [...]

    10. This might just be my favourite story in the Masters and Mercenaries Series far.I know Dungeon Games was only some short Novella part of the series, but for me it felt very well rounded and the pacing was right all around; I loved getting to know Derek and Karina as well as seeing some old friends again. I just missed one thingIan. :D So, now we have to wait again, right? August needs to be here, asap!

    11. 3.5 starsProbably my least favourite of the series but still an enjoyable read. I really missed Ian and his snarky humour. Looking forward to the next book.

    12. I was coming out of my high from reading Dungeon Royale (Book #6) and didn't think any book could top that but boy was I wrong. I think I love this book better than book #6. Yes, it is just a novella but it packed a wallop! I still am in love with Damon but Derek is right up there next to him. When I came across Karina a couple of books back, I didn't think I was going to like her as much as I do. I thought her to be a petulant character and an unworthy sub but Lexi Blake proved me wrong. Karina [...]

    13. I listened to the audio book of Dungeon Games This one was very good the only thing that I didn't like was that I wanted more! I loved the narration on this one and his Irish accent for O' Donnell was spot on lol I loved that Would Derek be my book boyfriend ? He'll yes I'm a bad girl officer now cuff me and take me to bed #Claimed

    14. Awesome 😊It was easy to figure out who the bad guy was, but I just loved Derek and Karina and everyone else so much that I can't even care about that.

    15. Lexi has brought the inner Sanctum to the forefront once again with Derek and Karina. The demons that Derek and Karina have faced in their lives will tug on your heart strings. They are truly a couple that needs BDSM in order to function in their everyday lives. Karina is dealing with her dark past and finds comfort in getting into her sub space where nothing else matters. She does not need to have sex with a Dom and has not made love to anyone in over 5 years.Derek was in Afghanistan and is dea [...]

    16. In this novella set in Ms. Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries ‘verse, Derek Brighton and Karina Mills are thrown together when a serial killer targets submissives from the local BDSM scene in Dallas. Derek and Karina have been dancing around their attraction to each other for quite a while in Ms. Blake’s books. Derek is brought in on the serial killer case because of his BDSM background, and finds out that Karina has been targeted as the killer’s next victim. Derek volunteers to become her [...]

    17. The big problem with short stories like these is that they'reort, much too short! Derek and Karina have been definitely not attracted to each other at all, nope! No lust here folks, just keep moving. Karina's an itch he badly wants to scratch, but she's reluctant to get involved with anyone, especially Derek. However, someone is murdering subs, so they agree to work together on a police op to try and identify the killer. Both of these characters are great. Karina's had a troubled past, but she's [...]

    18. My only complaint about the book was that it was too short. One of the best books in this series imo.Derek comes across as a judgmental ass but I think he was allowed a few issues after his piece of work ex Maia and going through a terrible experience in Afghanistan. He's battle wary in more ways than one, which presents the challenge of making a real connection with women, especially Karina. And then there's Karina who's facing her own demons as well as having feelings for Derek but not wanting [...]

    19. Great addition to the seriesI thought this was a great addition to the Masters and Mercenaries. I have read a the others and this could be read as a standalone too. I loved the connection between Derek and Karina. despite their differences they we perfect for each other. he needed to be needed and she needed to serve. The book also had a great plot. I found it difficult to put down once I started.I even liked Maia. she was one tough cookie.

    20. I love this series These books and novella are like cake, one piece is not enough.I need to devour it all in one sitting I loved Derek and Karina's storyThese 2 have had some sexy intense tension for a few books now, so it was great to finally see them get their story and their HEA!!!!Love, love, loved itThanks Lexi Blake for always delivering.Cant wait for Simon's story:)

    21. To date I've read every book in this series, and enjoyed all of them. Ten's book is due for release on August 4, 2015, I'm super excited about that one. With regard to these ( .5 ) books that are most often part of the 1000 Dark Nights publicationso, not quite rockin' my boat. I'll stick with the big daddy series books.

    22. For such a short (less then novella length) book it was very well written. The plot was fully fleshed out, and we were provide with enough character development to get a good feeling for the characters. The humor and one liner's are great.I love Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series.

    23. Derek and Karina's story was a great read. It had a great storyline and I really enjoyed the 'bringing in' of other characters in the series - great continuity!

    24. 5 Derek & Karina Stars. With the glimpses of our main characters in previous books my curiosity for this book was high. What I can say that this is a positively delightful, mouthwatering, emotional, adorable, breathtaking journey that we are taken on.There are on the hunt for a serial killer. Derek and Karina must put their differences aside. Although their differences are actual their fears of getting too close to one another and blindly trusting the one person you can’t live without.Thro [...]

    25. Fast and Furious, Just finished. Review may change. Another sweet little novella, this one with a bit more suspenseI could have seen this one being a great full length story if it had been one of the main couples. The outcome was easy to figure out but given the length of the story it would have been difficult to keep the 'secret' of who the bad guy was. I liked these two together and oddly quite like Maia, I'm going to have to go digging and see if she comes back to antagonize all of us in the [...]

    26. Dungeon Games is book 6.5 in the Masters and Mercenaries series and well-worth the read. I couldn’t wait to get into this book. I’ve been curious about Derek and Karina since they were introduced and this author did not disappoint!Derek is detective and wants the perfect 24/7 sub. His first marriage didn’t end well and now he has a specific idea of what he wants…and it’s not Karina. Don’t get me wrong, he wants her bad, but he thinks she’s not sub material, especially since she see [...]

    27. Awesome. This book was awesome. It started out a little slow for me but it did end up drawing me in and captivating me. The relationship between Derek and Karina is one I wasn’t expecting. Its a case of opposites attract. Its awesome how they cane together and how the situation they overcame made them both realize how much they needed each other. Its definitely a must read and one i would recommend.

    28. I had hoped they would get together but would have never thought it would be the way portrayed in this book. Awesome.
