    1. I originally got this because the excerpt made me laugh. Actually, this line is what really reeled me in:Ronny’s eyes widened. He’d read enough romance novels to know what that word meant and he also knew that there was never a black man or woman involved in something like that. Mates seemed to be only for other races, so there was no way that he could be somebody’s mate. It’s a true statement depending on what romance you’re reading. But it just made me cackle so I said eff it. I was l [...]

    2. I couldn't even get through half of this. It just was not my style.First things first, as a black woman, I did feel that in the beginning the author put too much emphasis on Ronny being black or on the black characters in general. When Cole went as far as to jokingly say the word "homies" to Ronny and Ronny was okay with it, I nearly threw my computer across the room. No one speaks like that anymore and I doubt so even in Harlem. Also, I understand that a part of the book's plot is to find the re [...]

    3. 2.57 Stars~ and I must say~The thoughts of this writer in the world building were awesome .The execution of it was not. There is a lot going on in this story, that I truly love and as I've said earlier, the world building idea's are awesome, but, to my dismay I really could not bring myself to like this one, because the writing in itself felt amateurish.

    4. 4 star review by DanI purposely didn’t read the blurb before I started reading the book, so I had no preconceptions about what the book was about. To be honest, while reading the prologue I was thinking to myself, oh bloody hell what have I gotten myself into? There were so many brothers of Adam that I just knew I wouldn’t be able to keep them straight. The prologue did though set the stage for the background of the story and helped start us learning about an alternate history, that we, the [...]

    5. This is book 1 of a new series, so it starts the whole world building scenario. Imagine. The bible we have, we all know is interpreted to suit the prejudices of many close minded people. So what if it's not the real bible, what if there's another much earlier very different book that would rock the world as we know it?Ronny meets Cole and his friend Ben and quickly has his world turned upside down by just such a development. They run meeting and joining a pack of So many story possibilities (I'm [...]

    6. This book was a blast to read. It was definitely different from my usual fare, and I loved it. Vicktor Alexander managed to combine tongue in cheek humor woven throughout the narrative with sexy scenes, serious topics, and a sense of real peril for the protagonists. The concepts in this novel were very interesting and creative. Great worldbuilding is something I appreciate, and this book has a good bit of it. I enjoyed the characters' distinct personalities. Ronny was the most fun for me, and Co [...]
