    1. I devoured this book. As a huge fan of Jane Bowles' Two Serious Ladies, it fascinated me. I had previously found it hard to get into reading her plays (reading plays is always hard, because they're meant to be performed), and hard to get into any of her short stories (although the short story is my favorite form, hers for some reason just didn't grab me the way Two Serious Ladies did).
