    1. What a fun book! From the very start the inventive story telling draws you in and paints a delightfully spooky picture which the actual illustrations compliment wonderfully. As per many of D. Melhoff's books, I initially thought it was telling one type of story and then ended up twisting itself into another altogether which in this case was a chillingly silly cautionary tale. A definite must read for all ages but especially youngsters around Halloween.

    2. Just picked this up for my Kindle on BookBuds for $1.99, and thought I might use it with some classes tomorrow. Wow! Creepy! Great fun rhyming throughout, and the bullies get punished for their greediness and cruelty - but yikes! I'm not sure I'll be able to look at a haunted house the same again! Watch out for those hobgoblins!

    3. As an avid fan of Halloween, trick or treating much into my later years - I adore this book! It awakened the little brat within who goes through the year biding time until the Halloween candy feast! I have no doubt I would have done the same as the protagonists, and had a similar fate ;)

    4. Everyone has seen this house at least once on Halloween. Thanks D. Melhoff for bringing back the memories of trick and treating, and bringing back the vivid imaginations of childhood! This is a story for young and old monster-loving brats.

    5. Graphics are the best! I enjoyed the rhyming. Would recommend to any age group. I'm 68 and loved it.I intend to look for more of his books. the content held my attention. I liked the option to enlarge type.

    6. Yes, I think we all had a 'House Thirty-One' on our Halloween route. Stunning illustration and lyrical prowess. D. Melhoff, this is sure to be a Halloween hit!
