  1. Very cute, very simple story. The drawings are all clear and nice. It's about a quiet girl who makes friends with a group of four boys who are all in the basketball club.

  2. I knew I would like this manga simply by the cover. Waiting for Spring is a shoujo manga with an art style I love. The first volume had me hooked throughout. Highly recommended for anyone that likes Sand Chronicles, House of the Sun, We Were There, Strobe Edge, and many more similar style shoujo manga.

  3. Decent start. Mitsuki is a good heroine that I want to see develop more. The main love interest, Towa, is likewise decent. Definitely feels reminiscent to a modern, school-based otome game, which is a plus in my book.Unfortunately, girl hate seems to be rampant in shojo and this is no exception. Most newer series talk discuss this issue and even attempt to smooth some of it out, but this one was set up so that it was almost seen as a "win" for Mitsuki if the guys noticed herAHP. Hopefully this i [...]

  4. Cute enough to read volume two, but nothing has really hooked me. I like when Mitsuke doesn't let the boys get away with messing with her, and could have used some more of that. Towa is nice enough, but since all he does is sleep in class and play basketball I can't say that I feel invested in him as a love interest. I don't love overzealous fan girls as a plot element, and this first volume has lots of that.

  5. A plain girl changes high schools to make some friends. The girls are a bit cruel to her but at the cafe where she works she ends up making friends with some of the coolest guys in the school, the basketball team. And the most handsome guy on the team appears to like her! A start to a new manga series! Definitely for young teens in the teen idol phase. It's very sweet and they'll love it.

  6. Status: On goingRead Volume 1-5Another go-to shoujo manga whenever I want to immerse myself with high school friendship and romance. Anashin has one of the best art in shoujo world. If you want a lot of bishounen, this is one of the best manga I can recommend.

  7. This was my first manga and it was a good intro for me. It was a very straightforward, light story about a shy girl who becomes friends with the basketball team while navigating the mean fan girls. It wasn't a very complex story and probably better for a younger reader than myself but still cute.

  8. December 4-5A sweet romantic story of a soft-spoken high school freshman and her quest to make friends, Waiting for Spring will delight fans of earnest, fun, and dramatic shojo like Kimi ni Todoke and Say I Love You. Mizuki is a shy girl who’s about to enter high school, and vows to open herself up to new friendships. Of course, the four stars of the boys’ basketball team weren’t exactly the friends she had in mind! Yet, when they drop by the café where she works, the five quickly hit it [...]

  9. this is just another shoujo romance manga. a girl meets boy kind of story. a loner main character who become friends with this super cool guy. yup, just another shoujo romance. i ended up enjoying it though. it's a super cute shoujo romance manga ❤❤❤

  10. In SummaryWaiting for Spring is well-illustrated, and that’s about it. The heroine is wishy-washy, and the cast’s bishounen latch onto her for no good reason. While it has the elements of a reverse harem manga, it can’t quite pull them together for a convincing story. The ReviewIn reverse harem manga, the heroine generally has unique circumstances or character qualities to capture the attention of the male characters. Make her a little too ordinary, and the dynamic doesn’t quite work. Wor [...]

  11. Today's post is on Waiting for Spring volume 1  by Anashin. It is 208 pages long and is published by Kodansha Comis. The cover is pink with Asakura-kun on it. It is the beginning of a series. The intended reader is someone who likes shojo, high school manga, and sweet stories. There is no foul language, no sex, and no violence in this manga. The story is told from the perspective of the main character. There Be Spoilers Aheadom the back of the book- Mitsuki longs to experience true friendship, [...]

  12. Not a lot going on here. Mitsuki is a shy, loner type who's decided to attend high school across town to make a fresh start and forge some real friendships for the first time in her life. Through a series of misadventures she quickly becomes close to a group of four guys who are the stars of the high school basketball team. That's basically it. I veer more toward this type of manga, I'm not a fan of the gender swapping stuff buy I've got a soft spot for the young girl finding her way trope. In t [...]

  13. This is a newer manga released for the first time in English July 2017. It features Mitsuki, a girl who cherished her friend Aya when they were younger, but now in high school, she is a bit of a loner. Her job is her only sanctuary, and she hopes to find that one true friend that is like Aya. Instead of just one friend, she finds four new friends amidst the basketball team, and begins to find feelings for one of them in particular. Because the basketball team's biggest priority is the sport, the [...]

  14. "Waiting for Spring" is volume 1 in a manga series. Mizuki is a shy girl who just started high school in a new area. She's trying to make friends but isn't doing very well because she's shy. Everyone else has known each other for years and already have friend sets. Four boys, friends who play on the high school basketball team, come to the restaurant where she works because one of them is interested in another girl there, but she learns that they're nice guys and becomes friends with them. She a [...]

  16. I really enjoy this story. It's cute and simple, love the slow romance between the main character and one of the main guy characters. The art is really nice, and the story engaging. This does not look like a reverse harem, so I hope there will be other girls for them. Everyone deserves love. I also like the little twist at the end. Mitsuki childhood friend came back, and she is not who Mitsuki thought she is. Can't wait for the next volume.

  18. Mizuki is shy. She thinks that finding something to focus on will give her strength and confidence and she chooses a high school none of her former classmates will be at so she can get a new start and not be the quiet, overlooked shy girl. But it's not that easy. The only place she feels comfortable is at the cafe she works at after school. But one day the four handsome basketball players that had teased her at school are at the cafe and since one of them has a crush on the owner's daughter, she [...]

  19. This was really fun! I had a hard time telling a couple of the girls apart because they all had the same uniform/hair style but I got there eventually. I can't believe this volume ended right when Aya showed up!

  20. This is a fluffy, cute novel about an awkward girl who becomes friends with four hotties on her high school's boys basketball team. Enjoyable with some actual laugh-out-loud moments. I'd consider buying the second volume when it's available.

  21. It was probably just me but I kept getting the guys names confused. I also had issues with how jerky the guys were on occasion. But I loved watching Mizuki start to come out of her shell and will continue to see where it goes.

  22. A humorous and refreshing, light read where budding friendships abound. can't wait to get started on the next volume!

  23. New girl trying to make friends ends up making friends with the coolest guys on the basketball team. Great sweet story.

  24. While their may not be anything groundbreaking (thus far) to this series, I loved the artwork and the characters are adorable. I look forward to more of their interactions.
