    One thought on “Day One”

    1. I adored creating Elle and her brave new companion, a dynamic relationship that I have been wanting to share with readers for a long time. #Bravo

    2. Summer Lane has done it again with her newest novella addition to the Zero trilogy a companion series to the Collapse series in which she has created a magnificently colorful and realistic apocalyptic society. Day One picks up immediately following the events of Day Zero and takes place sometime before State of Alliance. Your are once again following Elle Costa, this time it's as she begins the daunting task of searching for and attempting to rescue her newly acquired friends Jay, Georgia and Fl [...]

    3. Day One is a fast-paced novella, just like Day Zero, the first book in this series. The story continues the travels of Elle Costas as she searches for her recently-acquired friends and also makes new friends along the way. When you read the book, you will be amazed at the strength and perseverance of Elle as she moves toward and away from trouble. (Although, she seems to always be moving towards trouble in post-apocalyptic California. She can never really escape trouble.) You will will admire her [...]

    4. Summer does it againI have thoroughly enjoyed learning of the world after the EMP through the eyes of Elle. Because not much of her back story was given in The Collapse Series, I had a difficult time deciding whether or not I could trust her. The Zero Trilogy gives you all the insight you need as to why she's the way she is. Her and Cassidy are very much alike and I've enjoyed learning about those similarities. Nowwhat am I going to do waiting for the next installments of each series??.

    5. Like Elle and her new friendElle rescues her friends, the ungrateful, naive, know it all friends who when they first met her begged her to help them in their desperate state. She did. She does. But she is safest on her own, now with her new companion.Again, well written, characters you care about, and the meeting with Chris Young and Cassidy Hart looms. I can't wait to see these characters meet and merge alliances.

    6. Summer does a great job of developing her new set of characters. You may love them, you may hate them, but they leap off of the paper and are real once you read about them. Day One does not disappoint. It answers questions left dangling in previous books and begs for deeper dives in new situational pools. I have a new favorite character in Ms. Lane’s books and his name starts with a ‘B’. (No spoiler here) I would recommend the Zero Trilogy as time well spent.

    7. Wow! Can't even imagine what Elle has gone through in a few short months! I grew up in LA so this is all familiar territory to me too. Love the fact that she gained her empathy and compassion back when she met the kids. And absolutely adore Bravo!

    8. GreatHighly recommended read. Have fallen in love with Elle. Book is very well written and the language is clean. Very refreshing. Can't wait for the sequel.

    9. Fantastic readCouldn't put this one down! Fantastic read. Good character development, sound plot. Looking forward to book 3: End of Day

    10. Day oneI liked it enough to read it twice, need more be said. Summer Lane is brilliant with dystopian literature. Looking forward to many more stories.

    11. Great spin offGood book. If you like SUmmer Lane then this is another must read for you. Best of all the co-star is a dog.

    12. This was the second in the Elle chronicles and sees the introduction of one of the best characters in the entire Collapse Saga - Bravo. The continuation picks up with Elle on a desperate chase for her friends, and this is yet another gruelling book of trials and some serious personal growth for our main Female Hero.I'm not going to go into the story too much, so I don’t give it away, but needless to say that Summer Lane does not let up on Elle in the 2nd part of the series. The only good thing [...]

    13. The BookAfter the apocalypse and escaping Los Angeles, Elle is stranded alone in California when the Slaver kidnaps her friends. She determines to rescue them.My ThoughtsI had read Day Zero by Summer last year. After watching the movie, “The Fifth Wave,” I again became interesting in dystopian stories. I picked up Day One, the continuing saga of Elle and the apocalypse, and jumped into the world after the unthinkable happens. After book one, Elle has changed and has become tougher as she shi [...]

    14. In the desert you can remember your nameThe further adventures of Elle, in the apocalypse. This is the second book, and in this one Elle is trying to find the friends she met in book one. They were captured and she tracks them through the Mojave.Elle has some excellent survival skills, which is interesting, considering her privileged background. The story could use some better proofreading, and I don't much care for the flashback method of telling the backstory, but it's fairly entertaining.Result [...]

    15. Fast but a goodreadMy only wish that they had made Elle older. I can see here doing the things she does at a older person, I'm only saying a few years older ( not talking about making her in her 30's , just maybe18- 20 .( I'm not saying much a because I don't wanna give anything a away.)

    16. I enjoyed the second book far more than the first because of how much personality each character develops throughout. This book mostly focuses on Elle and I loved seeing her develop as a character and her believing that there is still hope and good people in the world. I also adored Bravo and Elle's relationship because who doesn't love animals? Their bond is endless.

    17. Food for thought Summer lane. it's another homerun loved the series. i'm really looking forward to the next adventure I hope that you're just a fiction writer and not precognitive in any manner. It's pretty terrifying how vulnerable we really are. After I finished this I've started stocking up on dry goods and ammunition just in case.

    18. Read this book in a day and it starts to tie in nicely with the collapse series. I feel that the story is too short. So when I finished I was left disappointed as opposed to waiting with eager anticipation for the next book.

    19. Pretty stupidMore of a teenage story. Drags on and is really slow. It's NOT an end times book but a supergirl/i win at everything book. Not reading the rest of the series. Skimmed thru this onewaste of 99 cents!

    20. Writing is better and more developed than Day Zero, but still a lot of room for improvement. Feels like the obstacles get resolved super fast.

    21. Good storyThis is a great follow up story to the first book. It's well written and the characters are true to life.

    22. A very from one houb$drfff((Pretty cool dystopian future. Waiting to find out Maj??I'm glad you found a challenging concerns and an interesting take onue
