    1. If I could convince the entire world to read this and feel that feeling I felt all day, I would. This entire story was exhilarating. I'm always convinced that Diane's characters are real, because she has this magical talent of bringing them to life, telling us their story, making us feel that we're along side them. I wanted to feel the way this book made me feel forever. From the first few pages to the very last word I didn't want this book to end. This is by far, one of my most treasured reads. [...]

    2. Diane is one of my favorite authors. I love her writing style. She makes very effective use of the First Person POV. I was greatly excited and honored when she asked me to proofread this book.I was not disappointed in the least by Darnay Road. Diane has such a deft touch when she describes the inner thoughts of her characters. Her descriptions of locales, daily activities and the general milieu in her books are top notch.Growing up in the 60’s was not easy for many people, the societal upheava [...]

    3. If you're reading Diane Munier, you're reading about love. And for this story, this love begins on Darnay Road in 1963. This love begins in the ten-year-old soul of Georgia Christine: love for her Granny, her best friend and crime-solving partner Abigail May, and a revolving assortment of small-screen heartthrobs. It begins in their thirst for sweet treats from Mister Softie's truck and solving the mysteries their little town breeds. It begins like an unassuming lazy summer day, a dozen little m [...]

    4. Darnay Road is one of those stories that you can’t praise enough. The writing transports you to the 1960s where the main character, Georgia Christine, is 10 years old. Diane Munier is able to capture not only the time period when she writes, but also the age of the characters. The reader is also transported back to when they were nine years old and observed the world with wonder, curiosity, and innocence, and problems seemed like they were a matter of life or death. Georgia is witty, clever, o [...]

    5. At first blush, Darnay Road appears to be a nostalgic story chronicling a decade in the life of young Georgia Christine.Set in the summer of 1963, innocent Georgia has become absorbed in the mysteries of life, religion and boys, not necessarily in that order. All too soon, she discovers that what she's taken for concrete truths may be anything but true or concrete. And as a nation awakens to the ugly reality of war and assassination, Georgia discovers her own voice, and with it her right to fight [...]

    6. Great read!I typically could read a book this size in about a day, but I choose to read small portions at a time because I get more into the feel of the book that way. At first this book started off slightly annoying. I think this was partly on purpose because there is this 12 year old girl monologing her thoughts (backstory). And golly did she has thoughts--lots of them. If it wasn't somewhat annoying it wouldn't b authentic. But eventually the actual story picked up and was bearable and even g [...]

    7. Took me back to my own childhood.Georgia was a bit older than I was during the opening of Darnay Road, but everything she and Abigail May said and did took me back to Lovers Lane, Bowling Green, Kentucky. That's where I grew up and where my best friend and I solved many a mystery ourselves. Diane's books don't take to a fantasy world. They take me to somewhere I've been before or somewhere that once was and her descriptions are so vivid you become lost in them. I took my time reading this one be [...]
