    1. Atwood pulls readers right into the heart of the story. The characters that she develops tug right at your heart, but both in different ways. The suspense of the story had me on pins and needles throughout. The achingly apparent bigotry throughout brings the social commentary to the front, while at the same time the characters rule the show.Atwood creates natural, real characters who carry the story forward very well. She takes time to develop each character separately, highlighting their differ [...]

    2. 4 1/2 Hearts reviewed by LisaReviewed for MM Good Book ReviewsThis is the first book in this amazing series and I would suggest you start with it. Although it doesn’t really give you an inclination on what they are going to be like. I have always been drawn to the paranormal world and when you add in a romance with sexy men then I am pretty easy. There are parts of it that are quite unique and I was pleasantly surprised by that. Although to be truthful it does feel like it was told with a fast [...]

    3. I was given a copy of this book free by the author in exchange for an unbiased review. This book has all the makings of a great book but its way too short. You just start to get into both the romance and the mystery and then bang, the end.As it is so short, the mystery is simply resolved and we have the MCs falling in love, planning to move in together and get married all within a couple of days.Even the reveal that one MC is a shifter and the other a government paid assassin was met with an, 'ok [...]

    4. This book had so much potential, but it just didn't get there. To me it felt more like an outline of what the author wants to happen in the book. The dialogs were what made me cringe the most. Like a really bad indie film. The whole paranormal aspect of the book was just a side thing; "oh, btw, I'm a not entirely human, just so u know". There wasn't even a relationship built up. They just talked about how they knew each other from college and then they met again and bam, they together. Yeah, def [...]

    5. Original Blog Post: Review: Shifters & Lovers Series: Bound to Brody & Romancing The Guardian by Ali AtwoodReview by: multitaskingmommaMy Rating: 4 of 5 StarsNote: This is the first I have read of Ali Atwood. I saw the post on Facebook about a shifter bodyguard and an actor he was hired to protect. Needless, it was a blurb that intrigued and my curiosity meter pinged. That book turned out to be the second of the series so I read the first installment before going for the second that intr [...]

    6. Reviewer: KevinGenre: M/M Paranormal3.75 HeartsReview:This is far from your typical shifter story. The premise of this book is more a psychological thriller/mystery. The author presents a well thought out storyline that includes a well-developed back story between the two main characters. The antagonist of the story has been targeting gay men and mass murdering over a series of time, without ever being discovered by the local author. The chemistry between the two characters leads you to believe t [...]

    7. 3.5 starsHonestly,I wasn't expecting much from this story, but I liked the premise of it - secret government agent (former Marine) and a clinical psychologist who had a crush on each other, while in the college, meet again But I was pleasantly surprised.I liked the writing. It was incredibly easy to follow the story, and although this was not long read - 68 pages on my e-reader - when I came to epilogue,I couldn't believe that I already read the whole book;I thought I was only halfway through the st [...]

    8. This book is a good start to the series. The plot is interesting with plenty of drama. The love scenes are hot and I really enjoyed the two main characters. I will definitely read the next story.

    9. I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I think I read a different book than everyone else who rated 4 or 5 stars. I want that book! If you are sensitive to a bad review, don't read the following one. My sarcasm can be hurtful. This books is a good start to what held great potential, but boy did it need input from outside sources to remove some of the ridiculousness of the plot and dialogue/character action. "Though the stranger’s gaze was fixed on an iPad, his [...]

    10. **I got this book in exchange of a honest review**Since I read the book description I was intrigued. Zac, Secret intelligence service assassin undercover as an FBI Agent, and Brody, Psychologist/Shapeshifter who were hot for each other but never did anything about it, they thought the attraction was unrequited. Now, years later their lives cross and they reconnect. Brody's patient is missing and Zac is helping to track him down.Brody was this branny guy in College, who was in denial about his se [...]

    13. 3 1/2 stars!Disclaimer: I was provided with a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. Zac and Brandon have been in love since university - but neither knows the other returns their feelings. Zac lives a secret life - to his family he is an FBI agent, in actuality he is a government assassin. Brandon is a psychologist who does work for the FBI on the side, with a secret of his own. When one of Brandon's patients goes missing and he knows somethings wrong, he turns to Zac, both for [...]

    14. I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.I was really looking forward to this story. And I am left disappointed. Zac is living an under cover life. He's an assassin, but none of his family knows it. He returned to his childhood home for a family celebration between assignments. His cover job is as an FBI agent.Brody, Zac's college crush, is still in town. He hears that Zac is back and asks him for help with his friends/ patient's disappearance.Although I g [...]

    15. These shifter stories by Ali Atwood were, I am sorry to say, a bit difficult for me to enjoy. Each story, the romance progressed too fast for my liking. The books are short, but I prefer a more gradual and development to the relationships. The dialogue was stilted and the characters didn't seem real. In Bound to Brody, Zac, an assassin comes home and is asked by his former crush, Brody to help with a missing person's investigation, As they work together, the realize their feelings for each other [...]

    16. I was given a copy of this book free by the author in exchange for an unbiased review.I read the blurb for this book and really wanted to read it. I love a good shifter story. Sadly, the shifter aspect of this story was a sort of background detail. I liked both Zac and Brody's characters. Zac's family was great too. The main plot of this book was trying to solve the disappearance of one of Brody's patients. I won't go into detail because I don't want to spoil the book, but the mystery was actual [...]

    17. *I received a free copy of this book for an honest review*This novella is cute, sweet, and fluffy with a dark edge. This who-done-it is intriguing and leave you guessing. I was however pleasantly surprised with who the bad guy was at the end. I am normally the type that figures out the ending long before I am half way through the book, so I was happy that I couldn’t this time. It could have been because the book was too short causing me not to have the time to do so. However, it at the same ti [...]

    18. A copy of this book was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review.Zac is a sniper who does secret jobs for the government. Ever since college he has always had an unrequited crush on Brody, who is now a psychologist. When Brody asks for his helping finding a missing patient, he has a difficult time refusing, though investigation is not really in his job description. This was ok. Nothing spectacular, nothing ground-breaking. Part of the problem is that it was too short, so [...]

    19. A free copy of this book was provided to me by the author for a fair and honest review. This book is the first of a three book series: Shifters and Lovers. It was a pleasant read, but the brevity of the story eliminated it’s depth. There was much room for character and plot development. Essentially you meet the MCs, they quickly solve the problem at hand then instant HEA. I have already recommended this book to a friend who was looking for what he called a quick read. The book has good bones t [...]

    20. Ok.I'm debating on #2. With the lack of background on Brody due to being adopted, no one knows anything. Brody doesn't know any of the 'rules' and so neither do we. Oh, and the word mate is mentioned in reference to ZAC's actions before he even knew about shifters.Plus, describing their first real encounter (not sexual but actually meeting) there's NO hint that Brody is in any way into guys. This is one of those rare times that this actually makes me feel awkward. Then there's the real lack of a [...]

    21. I received this book for free for a fair and honest review. This book is short at only 68 pages and I wish there had been a little bit more. The supernatural aspect wasn't really explained well for me, was it known there were shifters or was it secret. The writing itself was good I just wanted a little more (even 10 more pages) to get to know the characters and the case they worked on seemed tacked on. I wish they had just met as friends, realized they liked each other and then gotten together.

    22. *A copy of this book was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review.*This was ok. It felt very connect the dots. I didn't connect with the MC as much as I would've liked to. I didn't buy into their pining and want for the other. The first love scene felt really impersonal, like they didn't know each other and one was being paid to be there which was NOT the case. The mystery was okay, I figure it was who it was, but there was a twist on HOW it was who it was. But it's not t [...]
