    1. A second chance romance is always a favorite trope for me. Our single mom heroine, Whitney, who makes ends meet as a freelance journalist, runs into the guy who broke her heart and left her pregnant. And, he doesn’t know he’s a dad. Sure his reasons for leaving her, from his perspective, seem legit and altruistic, but not to her. Their attraction steams the pages, but there’s more than a few obstacles for these two to overcome to find their way back to love. This is a sweet romance interlac [...]

    2. Dangerous Heat is a very well written romance by Sloan McBride that has some mystery and a sprinkle of paranormal thrown in it. This book is a steamy romance that throws me back into my reading times of romance books, but it also packs a good punch of danger and mystery, the "whose done it" which really leaves you guessing until the very end. It has a dusting of paranormal thrown in with Whitney being an empath, which does come in handy but for the most part seems like a painful "power" to have. [...]

    3. If you like your heroes and heroines struggling with their pasts, this is the perfect book. In this second chance romance, local reporter Whitney has a son by her first love, but has never told him. Tom still loves Whitney but filled with guilt after his family dies in a fire, fled and became a fire jumper. Needless to say when they come together again the sparks fly. To complicate matters, Whitney is being attacked by someone, her psychic abilities are sending warnings, and Tom wants back in he [...]

    4. Suspense and romance. Single mother Whitney runs into her son's father ten years after their night of love (soon after, he disappeared). Understandably, she is still bitter, but tortured hero Tom has a very good reason for why he left. While he struggles to learn how to be a father, he and Whitney discover their attraction is still there--if they can get past the passage of time and a host of characters who don't want them together. But some real shady stuff is happening in this small town. No s [...]

    5. ~~Review by Marie at Bitten by Books~~Ten years ago Whitney Storm said “yes” to Tom MacKenzie, in more ways than one. Returning home that night, Tom finds his family home burned to the ground and half his family gone with it. Overwhelmed with guilt, Tom runs away, leaving Whitney a letter claiming she is better off without him.Now Whitney is a freelance journalist supporting herself and her son, Spencer, a bittersweet gift from her one and only night with Tom. While working on a story, an un [...]

    6. This was a "couldn't put down until I finished" book! The characters were great together and their issues were very realistic. It's not a melt your e-reader romance, but it still offers it's fair share of steam! When reading a romantic suspense, I can usually guess who the bad guy is before the big reveal, but not with this one. I was left guessing until it named them. It was very well played out! I will definitely be recommending this one.
