    1. I wasn't sure what to expect from this short from Christine Vann. My initial thought was how can anyone explore the concept of identity, memory and preconceptions of oneself in such a short space? Vann does just that in a well thought out scene with children and adults in the full throes of the Metanoia programme. Although it is a sci-fi take on the idea of identity, When I Was Not Myself will make the reader think. Are we who we want to be? How do others perceive us? Is our identity really inta [...]

    3. This is an insightful short story into the biases and hurts that we let control our mind, and consequently our lives. What if those thoughts were stripped away? How would we react to those we hate or fear? In this story, people--children and adults--have certain memories stripped away, and their own identity as well, while their main personalities remain. What results is harmony. What will happen, though, when they regain all their memories? Will the experience have changed them, make them bette [...]

    4. "When I was Not Myself" explores the connection between identity and memory, and how changing one has an effect on the other. It's a quick read, but I believe the author managed to successfully get her message across and I would certainly like to read more on the subject.

    5. Okay storyThis was a fast read but it not as interesting and thought provoking as I thought it would be. It is not a bad story but was not very memorable and I do not think I will be revisiting it.

    6. Just what a good short story should be. I made me thing and left me to ponder the points it brought up all while entertaining me. Can't ask for better than that.
