    1. First a word of warning! Destroyer is the second book in an on-going series, so tread carefully here. I’m issuing a SPOILER WARNING since I’ll talk a bit about what happened previously in order to establish Destroyer and a brief bit of discussion about that ending, which clearly indicates a book three is on the way. You’ve been warned!Destroyer, the latest from author Brett Battles and second in his Rewinder series, picks up on the heels of the previous novel, Rewinder. Now living as a sort [...]

    2. Disappointing is the word that comes to mind. I LOVE the Quinn series, and I liked Rewinder. This book, though, actually annoyed me. Several times I debated just stopping and not finishing- for a sequel that I wanted to read. This is extremely rare. ( beware of spoilers)Seriously, did we HAVE to go through all that time travel? After a awhile, it was just crazy. The amount of jumps and the fact that Lydia was just mad dog lunatic crazy did not make for a good read, in fact it was distracting and [...]

    3. Sadly, I didn't enjoy this book as much as Rewinder. It was still pretty decent, but it very much felt like half of a book. It doesn't just end on a cliffhanger, the entire book just feels like set-up. (view spoiler)[Sure the "villain" is dealt with in a climactic battle, but it's so underwhelming. (hide spoiler)] We don't even really get to see the historical pay-off from the jaunts through history that comprise the second half of the book!Another problem with this book is that there is NO char [...]

    4. "Destroyer" by Brett Battles is a time travel book that also piques the fancy of those who love history. Thank you to Net Galley for sending me on this journey.I did not read the first book in this series. That did not have an effect on enjoyment or understanding of the story. The plot and the time travel journey speeds one along. One roots for Denny and his small group of friends as they follow a path across past history in an effort to protect time and all of us.I really felt that Denny was pai [...]

    5. Destroyer picks up right where Rewinder leaves off. I had predicted the crux of the story at the end of Rewinder, but the author still managed a surprise or two. Destroyer has the same amount of history, and seems to jump into the action right away. The story was easy to follow, and a few of the reveals were predictable. Two things bother me about Destroyer: The time-traveling Denny seems reluctant to do what he knows he must, and that ends up making entire portions of the book an epic listing of [...]

    6. I really like this author, and the first book in this series was not bad, but I had a hard time with this edition. It was very wordy and maybe I just don't like this type of story. I found myself skipping a lot of dialog just to get to the end, and then the ending doesn't finish the story. The main character is a person who has the ability to change history and the majority of the book is him trying to stop another person who can also do this. Even though I don't know what happened to the hero, [...]

    7. My original Destroyer audiobook review and many others can be found at Audiobook Reviewer.Destroyer continues right where book one left off. Denny Younger has his sister and girlfriend and a new life in our time line. His chaser unit is running out of power and he has no way to recharge it. Instead of living like the rest of humanity without time-travel, he finds a way to recharge it and continue to jump and jump through space and time. Only, he’s not as alone as he thinks.Time travel is messy [...]

    8. I won this book on a giveaway.Read my Review HereAlthough I was not too thrilled about the first book, I figured I’d give it one more shot. As expected, there was a surplus of time travel throughout this book. However, it was straight and to the point. There were so many great ideas that could’ve happened than what originally did. When time is distorted, I don’t know about you, but I’d most defiantly go and explore. But Younger doesn’t even have enough patients to smell the flowers. G [...]

    9. When we left Denny Younger at the end of Rewinder it seemed that he was the last rewinder and was through changing history. Not so. In Destroyer someone from his past reappears and is set to do major danger. The title says it all. That someone is determined to make Denny watch as the world is changed in ways that destroy severyone Denny loves. I love how Denny keep fighting in spite of the odds against success. This time the trips hit major tripping points in time and each time Denny fails to sto [...]

    10. 7/4/17 ~ ended up enjoying this more than I did the first time around I think. It's a good followup and while there are some lulls, overall it's enjoyable. Now I can finally get to reading the 3rd book.====================I was really excited to go right into this one and I was a LITTLE disappointed with it. It was still quite enjoyable but was a much slower pace than the first book was. I ended up guessing a few things pretty early on and there were some times that what was happening just slowe [...]

    11. I received a free advanced ebook copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.Destroyer is book 2 in the Rewinder series. This books follows on from where Rewinder left off. Denny is now the only Rewinder and only has one chaser, for which he needs a charger. Everything seems to be going well for him but then he notices that he is being followed by someone. However, Denny's chaser gets stolen and needs to get it back before someone destroys the lives of everyone he loves.I enjoyed readi [...]

    12. A good follow upAlthough this is a good follow up from book 1 in the series, it is not quite as entertaining, don't let me put you off, but there to seemed to be a lot more of a an adventure in book 1. This episode in the rewinder saga seemed to confuse me with the too many time jumps in the latter part of the novel and although I can normally manage to keep pace with the most complicated of plots, I did find myself confused or maybe puzzled and found myself backtracking on several occasions to [...]

    13. The main character spent too much of this book as a passive passenger. Or, if not passive, then ineffectual. Then it ended in a cliffhanger I wasn't expecting. I wouldn't have read this until the next book came out if I had known. Left me frustrated and annoyed.

    14. 3.5I like the beginning section when things are simple but toward the end I started getting confused on what was happening and why.

    15. The sequel to a waste of time is well, if I only I could travel back in time and not read this book. OK, I'm hard on teen-lit, but once again the time traveler who at least had a compelling set up in the "Rewinder" has to face his crazy nemesis again--and this time she's only out for revenge and to mess up the world for no other purpose. That's the whole book--oh, if you think, but it's short, so I can just know this out, well it ends on a cliff-hanger--I think I'll let it hang this time.

    16. I read the first book in these series a while ago, but when I picked up this second book, everything came back to me. I like the idea of time travel and just how quickly things can go wrong. The best part of this book is the way it is written; the worst part is that now I have to read the third book to get satisfying ending!

    17. Great storyI really enjoyed this book. It seemed well-written, well-researched, and imaginative. I'm already looking forward to reading the third book in the series. I've only just become aware of the many other books by this author, and I plan to check out more of them.

    18. Pretty good first half. Its a time travel adventure and sequel to "Rewinder."The last third sucks. I guess you are supposed to buy the next one to find out what happens - but that ain't happenin' here.

    19. This second book in the series further explores the concept of time travel and how dangerous it can be in the wrong hands. The characters are true to the previous novel, however it does get confusing. i enjoyed the read, and there is still room to expand if a further book is written in the series.

    20. InterestingI do not normally read sci to but this one was good. The characters are normal enough even though the plot is weird.

    21. After all that, a cliffhanger at the end?! This displeases me. A few of the top lower rated reviews have already said what I want to say. I don't think I'll be reading the next one.

    22. Put simply, this is not a good book. Characters respond to contrived situations in unrealistic ways. I could also sum up the whole plot in a few sentences.

    23. The first book's ending left a vast amount of potential for this to be really good. But it just kinda wasn't. Denny was really annoying in this book and, though I did finish it and start reading the third, I quickly realized that I just don't care any more.

    24. This book has a decent concept, but terrible character behaviors. I can only take so many instances of a character making stupid decisions to move the plot along. I literally had to stop reading this book for days at a time because I was so mad at how dumb the characters were acting. Very reminiscent of the 2nd Twilight book, and how whiny Bella was. I get that this is a YA series, and they might not pick up on it, but I'm not willing to give the author/series a pass because it happened REPEATED [...]

    25. Left hangingGood first book! This was good until it ended with a jolt! No clue ,no resolution! Perhaps an opening for another book? It definitely needed a more finesses conclusion! Disappointing!
