    1. (Note: This review has several spoilers. I decided to include them in order to explain exactly why this book was SO disappointing to me. If you don't want to read spoilers in book reviews, then don't read this one. But I'm not removing the spoilers, because I totally think they're necessary. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. BTW, I HIGHLY recommend another Elyse Douglas holiday novel, titled The Christmas Town. THAT book is absolutely WONDERFUL!! Go check it out!!)One look at this cover, and a quick reading [...]

    2. I received this book for an honest review. This is a wonderful intense, emotional Christmas read. Have you ever wished for a second chance even if it is years later? Olivia and Brett are very likable. I love that Brett is so carefree and goes after what he wants. I did think I was going to have to stop a couple of chapters shy of finishing but I continued on and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the book and ending. This book is very well written and flows great together. I am glad that Olivia was a [...]

    3. I don’t read contemporary romances very often. Most of my dear readers know that my favorite books are historical, literary fiction, memoirs, biographies, and some non-fiction. However, I do diverge from those every once in a rare while. Something about ‘The Christmas Bridge’ intrigued me enough to get me to read it. I think it was a combination of the beautiful snow covered bridge on the cover and that it is a book written by a husband and wife team.Olivia is a 40 year old woman whose hus [...]

    4. The Christmas Bridge is the story of a woman's journey of self-discovery and getting a second chance at true love.Olivia is a forty year old widow who travels to New York City on a business trip a few days before Christmas. While taking a walk in Central Park, Olivia has an unexpected chance encounter with Brett Baylor, a professional baseball player on Bow Bridge, a landmark that holds nostalgic twenty year old memories of Andrew, her old college love. With a chance to reconnect with Andrew and [...]

    5. The Christmas Bridge is a tale of love. That is as simple as the definition can get. It is the story of Olivia, a widow. The story opens with Olivia sitting alone during the Christmas season, nearly a year after her husband, Carl’s death. She feels empty, alone and depressed. An opportunity to travel to New York on work arises and Olivia, in a sudden decision, contacts an old friend, Andrew. Memories of a forgotten past resurface and Olivia feels guilty and confused about her now obsolete marr [...]

    7. A Christmas BridgeElyse DouglasContemporary Romance    5 Stars    A quick read, one filled with heartache, pain and happiness (not necessarily in that order). Olivia has been a  widow for a year since her  Carl died suddenly of a heart attack. And her 19 year old daughter Emily is away at college.  Her father-in-law Taylor Scott is her biggest supporter/fan.        A business trip  to New York city, finds Olivia with mixed emotions about her past.  Andrew an ex boyfriend from he [...]

    8. 5 stars - with a heart! This was the sweetest and most romantic book I have read in a very long time. I just loved it - beginning, middle and end. I read this book in one day, almost in one sitting. The only time I put it down was when I had to cry for a while.Excellent character development. Olivia was great. She seemed so real to me. I really felt her personality, like I knew her.I absolutely loved Brett! He was so sweet, romantic, kind of innocent in a child kind of way. I would love to have r [...]

    9. Great Holiday romance I had started reading this thinking that Olivia would reconnect with her first love Andrew and that this would be a second chance romance book. Was I wrong! The Brett Baylor plot twist really threw me! Normally I'm not a big fan of older women/younger men romances but this was written so wonderfully. I really wasn't able to stop until I finished!

    10. This is a great romance! There are a few interesting twist, story is not predictable, some tastefully written love scenes, I really was hooked after a couple chapters. Olivia is very strong woman, Brett sure knows what he wants. The New York descriptions are beautiful, and the scenes on The Bridge are amazing. Great way to spend an afternoon.

    11. Her husband, Carl Scott, had died a year before. Olivia was still grieving her loneliness. She had to take a trip to New York for business to attend an estate auction for her boss. When she had been in college in New York, she’d been in love with Andrew Allen. Why not try to reconnect? Would the sparks still be there? After she sent the text message to him, she almost immediately regretted it. Their affair had not ended on good terms. It was the historic Bow Bridge where she’d met Andrew. It [...]

    12. Check out the full review at Kritters RamblingsA great holiday novella/short story that really put me into the holiday spirit. With moments taking place in the city that makes me think of the holidays - New York. Olivia a recent widow returns to New York for work during the holiday season and sets a dinner date with a long lost love, but fate intervenes!I love how this book deals with the idea of fate. I love how she thought her life was going a certain way when fate and a bridge stepped in. Eve [...]

    13. Charming love story about finding true love. In this story a young widow who married her childhood sweetheart because she was pregnant finds that there are different types of love.
