    1. There’s a marked increase in the action and pacing in the second of The Grayson Trilogy and I was hooked into the story from the beginning. Emma Grayson has survived the traumas life hurled at her in A Single Step and has gained in confidence and strength. She and Trent are learning to trust in each other as their relationship deepens although Trent, by Emma’s reckoning, is still overly protective and possessive. Her emotions are complicated but the dawning acceptance of her feelings is more [...]

    2. Before The Dawn is book two in the Grayson Trilogy. It crosses romantic suspense with mystery. Emma Grayson is the equestrian groom at Melton Manor Estate. To the locals this is a working farm estate, but inside it's an external force for MI6 to use. Top man Cavendish and his family are now targets for a ruthless organisation known as the Polzin family after the team recently put a stop to a branch of their human trafficking business. Retaliation from the Polzin is expected and security on the e [...]

    3. Emma Grayson and Trent are now together in this second episode. Emma is beginning to realise the extent of Trent’s involvement in undercover work when he and Cavendish return from another trip the worse for wear. They bring with them the news that this time it is personal and the estate and its workers are in imminent danger. As the Estate’s groom, Emma or (Grayson as she is known) is the only one without military training and events which follow have her asking whether this life is for her. [...]

    4. I’ve been reading about Japanese sword-making for a current project, and the process sounded oddly familiar. Then I sat down to write a review of Georgia Rose’s Before the Dawn, the second volume in her Grayson trilogy. And I got it. A good sword has to be hard enough to hold a sharp edge, while being strong and flexible enough to absorb massive shocks without cracking or breaking. The story of Emma Grayson parallels the process of creating the katana, the masterpiece of Japanese sword-makin [...]

    5. As the blurb suggests the book follows off from the first in The Grayson Trilogy and as I was so hooked from the end of the first I just had to continue the story straight away. The second book follows the quite stressful life of Emma Grayson who although has come along bounds and bounds in her strength of character and her confidence is still struggling with her relationship with Trent. Although the trust is growing there Trent is still undeniably over-protective and it’s beginning to put lar [...]

    6. This is the second novel in the Grayson Trilogy by British author Georgia Rose, who has departed somewhat from her previous genre to offer readers a fast-paced, action thriller, based on her original characters. Whilst an element of romance underpins this new tale, it now forms part of the backdrop rather than taking centre stage.Clearly mindful that some will have read ‘A Single Step’ and other readers are new to her work, Rose drip-feeds a little information from the first book, without dw [...]

    7. Before the DawnBy Georgia RoseThe story begins with a staff briefing by Trent, which was really background to the story. The author could have set the scene using narrative and we would have seen/felt/smelt the landscape as well as understood the situation. In his briefing, Trent was only able to describe the politics and the danger the estate is under due to the activities of Russian criminals. We learn that, although the estate bred and trained horses, it was really a front for MI6 and so Emma [...]

    8. Before The Dawn is book two in the Grayson Trilogy. It’s a cross over genre between mystery, crime and romance. Not wanting to give any spoilers in my reviews I’ve decided that I’ll include the blurbThere are testing times ahead for Grayson and Trent as trouble threatens Melton Manor. When an attack is made against those on the estate, Grayson gets caught in the middle finding herself and those around her in terrible danger. Terrified when she thinks tragedy has struck again she fights to p [...]

    9. Emma Grayson's new life and love at Melton Manor is threatened when Trent's international security work follows his team home.In this second book of The Grayson Trilogy, the Melton estate is as magical a place as ever. Grayson herself is slowly breaking out of the emotional fortress she built following her daughter's death and her husband's betrayal. She and Trent are gaining some degree of security in their relationship, though both have their blind spots. Trent's over-protective nature is a so [...]

    10. See full review here in the way it is meant to be viewed. booklovercircumspect4/2015MY REVIEWThis is the second book of the Grayson Trilogy. To see my first review on the first book, A Single Step, click here. The author is very honest in the beginning of the book that you must read the first book because she does not summarize the first book in the second book. I, personally, appreciate that as I do not want to reread the first book, I want to get rolling on the next book, but I digress. Moving [...]

    11. “Before the Dawn,” is the aptly titled second book in Georgia Rose’s Grayson trilogy. After reading, “A Single Step,” a romance grounded in the tale of Emma Grayson, a capable heroine who had been broken by tragedy, I was intrigued by its other strand of dramatic adventure and fear, engendered by her boyfriend Trent’s work in undercover military action.“Before the Dawn,” finds Emma Grayson and Trent tentatively exploring their new relationship while living on the Melton Estate wh [...]

    12. I loved A Single Step and so was delighted when the sequel, Before the Dawn was released. All I can say is Georgia Rose doesn’t disappoint. She finds the perfect balance between giving us quick reminders about the characters without re-hashing too much, which means the story flows seamlessly and could easily be enjoyed as a standalone. Emma Grayson’s life has moved on and she’s no longer the troubled individual she once was so, while we still get to enjoy her and Trent as a couple, this st [...]

    13. In this second book of the Grayson series we learn more about all the people working at the manor and their roles as Emma is thrust into a dire situation that not only puts her in peril but those in her charge. A terrifying pursuit and ordeal follows. However, a mysterious stranger is found to have helped her and disappeared, leaving many unanswered questions.Emma is strong and determined but shows some vulnerability and acknowledgement that she can't just go it alone, despite her instinct to do [...]

    14. Emma Grayson loves her job as groom on the Cavendish Estate. Trent, Cavendishs' right hand man, who she disliked and distrusted when she first met him, determined as she was to remain independent, is now her boyfriend and she longs for him to come home to her. A meeting of all the estate staff reunites Emma with Trent but she learns of the threat to Cavendish and his family, a direct result of the other work the estate is involved in for MI6.I enjoyed 'A Single Step' but this book is much tighte [...]

    15. Before The Dawn, the second book in the Grayson Trilogy by Georgia Rose is a energizing, momentum filled read. A gripping addition to the previous book, A Single Step, which I devoured on a rainy afternoon. The author has the ability to transport her reader right into the surroundings and get attached to the characters as if they are familiar. These books are both compelling and full of drama and unexpected suspense. The twists kept coming making this an adventurous escape. With Before The Dawn be [...]

    16. A different trailRollicking good fun, if a little wider focus on dangerous games than the first installment. I enjoyed the first so much I immediately bought the second to continue the fun, and was pleasantly surprised to find this one edgier than the first. Well written and plotted, the pace is fast and exciting again with a few twists and turns and only a tiny amount of eyerolling at exactly what money can buy in terms of lifestyle (that's said with affection). A lovely denouement to the main [...]

    17. Wow! What a read! The exhilarating sequel to A Single Step, Before the Dawn is fast-paced from the start as Emma Grayson turns from loner to heroine. My heart raced as I hurried to find out what would happen next, and that was only half way through! I was pleased Trent up his game, I must admit to not being his biggest fan in A Single Step, but as Before The Dawn went on I couldn't help but find him rather tasty myself! Not that Emma needs him to look after her, she is right that she can take ca [...]

    18. A Romance where more is at stake than the life of the heroine as she faces danger and life threatening events. She cannot be sure the hero will be able to get to her in time.Emma has learned to trust Trent, but events transpire to separate them. Emma has to rely on herself to navigate a way out of danger for her and her companions. Can Trent save the day or will Emma have only herself to rely on?The book has a good pace and the characters have matured. The interaction with secondary characters, [...]

    19. Like part 1, A Single Step, Before the Dawn starts by building up the tension bit by bit. As the tension mounts it is clear what is going to happen. That was what I thought, but never in my wildest dreams did I realise how involved Emma would be, nor what would actually happen.Once normal life has kind of been restored there are clues to what will happen in the final part of the trilogy, even the title is a clue, but Georgia Rose has surprised me before so I am ready to be surprised again. I mig [...]

    20. I eagerly anticipated the continuation of Emma's story and was not disappointed with Before the Dawn. The story picks up right where we left Emma and all the others at the manor and quickly delves more into what really happens beneath the surface.I don't want to give anything away with the plot but the story was suspenseful and held me captivated enough to finish the book in a few hours.I really enjoyed this continuation of the story and am looking forward to the conclusion. There is one mystery [...]

    21. While I liked this 2nd novel in the trilogy, I was bothered by the vagueness/lack of detail both in the story and with the development of the characters as well as the development of the growing relationship between the H and h. For me the story lacks definition and there is no time frame for the events. This added to a lack of depth and connectiveness both with the story and the characters. Disappointing. Overall I rated the story at 3.25 and assigned it a sexy rating of 3.5

    22. Great follow-on to Book 1. More thriller but still plenty of romance. Really enjoyed reading it. Very readable and good character development. Enough references to Book 1 to support the development of the plot without too much re-visiting. Shall be reading Book 3 very soon as I'm intrigued to know where it's going next.

    23. It's a great sequel to A Single Step, although I definitely recommend reading the latter, first. Trent and Grayson's relationship develops, and there's lots of action. I'm looking forward to seeing how some some loose ends tie up in part three.

    24. Emma's adventures continue This is an exciting, suspenseful read. Georgia Rose has the knack of making us care about what happens to her characters, and I read well into the night with this one just to see if they were going to be all right! Can't wait for the third book in this amazing trilogy.
