    1. Lesley Stanton Nix or Nixy as she was affectionately known, had recently moved to Lilyvale, Arkansas to be near her Aunt Sherry and her friends. Nixy’s visit in April had brought her closer to her aunt, and the move to Lilyvale had proved to be a good one. Now the grand opening of the craft shop, the Handcraft Emporium, was about to get under way. With help from the Silver Six – her aunt and friends – the week-long mix of events was sure to be a lot of fun.Their first guest was Doralee Gor [...]

    2. Book one may have been silver, but book two is gold!Once again author Nancy Haddock shares with us her brilliant writing, and gives us a second installment in her Silver Six Mysteries, that is even better than the first! I wouldn’t have that that possible, but I am so glad to be wrong! Author Haddock’s style of writing can’t help but pull a reader in. As informative as it is entertaining, her words flow across the pages in a way that keeps you wanting to turn the next page and the next. I [...]

    3. Nancy Haddock had me laughing out loud and truly enjoying the "Silver Six" in this the second of the Silver Six Crafting Mystery, Paint The Town Dead. Main character Nixy has just gotten the Craft Emporium open when a confrontation and disruption of the first class on how to decorate gourds brings an unwanted dark cloud and murder to her opening week. I have to admit that I had the murder pegged pretty early on, but I enjoyed how Nancy unfolded the mystery and confirmed my suspensions. Marriages [...]

    6. This book is the second in a series, and it is a perfect followup to the first book.Nix is now living in Lilyvale, Ark and is running the Handcraft Emporium with the Silver Six. 7. This is a cute series. I figured out the bad guy early in but I usually do. I like the characters and the town. It's well written with a sense of humor.

    8. I loved this book, I can't say enough good about the characters. The silver six are all lovable with their own personalities without being overly quirky. Nixy is a strong likable woman who tries to help Doralee who's being looked at for the murder of her ex's fiance. Actually the silver six want to solve it and Nixy steps in to help keep them out of trouble. I like her interactions with Eric, the romance is moving at a nice pace. There is the addition of a couple of four legged characters. The m [...]

    9. Nixy is settling into the small town of Lilyvale, Arkansas quite nicely. She, along with the Silver Six, have opened up a craft store that also features various craft classes. When the fiancée is discovered dead in a local inn Nixy and the Silver Six jump into action. Paint the Town Dead is another great book in the Silver Six Crafting Mysteri [...]

    10. The silver six, along with Nixy as manager have opened a craft emporium. As part of the opening week festivities there are demonstrations in various crafts, gourd painting, glass painting, jewellery making, whittling, etc. All goes well except for the theft of a few tools from the artists. But then the obnoxious fiancé of one of the artists is murdered. But who did it? Nixon isn't going to let a little thing like murder disrupt the opening festivities or her fun with her new pets. And besides h [...]

    13. Paint the town Dead by Nancy Haddock is the 2nd book in the Silver Six Crafting Mystery series, and my first book by this author. The first book in the series is called Basket Case, and I am looking forward to reading that book also. Paint the Town Dead was very enjoyable with a wonderful mix of our young protagonist “Nixy” Stanton and her retired aunt and her roommates, the “Silver Six” in Lilyvale, Arkansas. Nixy and the Silver Six are busy opening up the Handcraft Emporium, a craft sh [...]

    17. Review was originally posted onThe Writer's InkwellWhen I read the first book in this series, I was a bit on the fence about how I felt about it. I loved the idea of using Arkansas as the setting and I was actually quite intrigued about the Silver Six. But something about that book kept me from “loving” it. Whatever it was, seems to have disappeared between book one and this book because I loved book two. It’s been a few months since Nixy first came to Lilyvale to check in on her aunt and s [...]

    18. It's so hard to believe that a year has passed since I met Nixy! When I starting reading Paint the Town Dead (Silver Six Crafting Mystery #2) by Nancy Haddock, it felt like yesterday since I'd left this series. I hope you made the time to read the first part, because the second part is just as much fun.As I said, I was really excited to be back in this series, and that is because the characters are so fabulous. Nixy is a smart and spunky heroine, and Eric is still swoony. I missed them as well t [...]

    19. Author Nancy Haddock has crafted a group of fun-loving, madcap senior citizens that don’t know the meaning of retirement. Teamed with a young and feisty protagonist, Leslee Stanton ‘Nixy’ Nix, the group provides an entertaining adventure in PAINT THE TOWN DEAD.The story moves at a good pace and features enough surprises and detours to keep you guessing. 20. This book is a lot of fun. If you are looking for a wild romp into a crazy murder mystery, this one will likely please you. The main character is fun, the shop at the center of the book is the kind of place I want to work and the Silver Six are pretty irresistible, too. I love it when multiple characters help to solve a mystery, and this book does an exemplary job of that. The characters personalities mesh well together, each one offering something unique to the story and making it a pleasure to [...]

    21. This was a boring mystery. There is a lot of description of the day to day life of the main character, Nixy, and her aunt, but not a lot of description of murders and crime scenes. Nixy owns a craft shop in Arkansas. There is a craft demonstration that is supposedly very good about painting gourds. I think it would help the story to include the actual instructions for this. It takes a while for a murder to happen. Nixy finds the dead body of her gourd painting instructor's ex-husband's new fianc [...]

    22. A thoroughly enjoyable puzzle. This is one where I was not sure of the killer til pretty much the conclusion. The characters are intriguing. Our lead investgator, Nixy, is relatively young (thirties I believe) but rest are in what should be their retirement years, hence the name The Silver Six. All of them are still active, including a business dealing in what is referred to as folk art. In fact the mystery takes place during the business' grand opening. The law is present in the form of a polic [...]

    23. I continue to enjoy this series, this is the second book in the series and Nixy has decided to stay and with the help of her aunt Sherry and the rest of the Silver Six to open an Handcraft Emporium. Nixy moves into the apartment above the shop and starts making friends with her fellow business people in Lilyvale. Of course there is also the handsome Detective Eric Shoar, that Nixy met when her aunt was a murder suspect, on her visit to Lillyvale to check on her aunt and her precocious friends. T [...]

    24. Ultimate Reading Challenge 2016. A mystery.Nixy and the Silver Six have worked hard and are ready to open their Handcraft Emporium. To celebrate their grand opening they are offering all sorts of demonstrations by local artisans. Oddly enough tools disappear from two of the early demonstrations. Then, Nixy and Doralee discover that the new fiancee of Doralee's ex-husband has been murdered. Who did it and why? Also, a young puppy and a young kitten traveling together have adopted Nixy. I love the [...]

    25. Leslee Stanton aka Nixy has moved to Lilyvale, Arkansas to help her Aunt Sherry and her housemates the 'Silver Six' run a craft emporium from the family home. It is their opening weekend and the guest lecturer brings along baggage with her. One of the attendees is found dead in the lecture room. The room had been thoroughly searched and toss about. Nixy must find some answers before there are more murders. The previous book is now high on my TBR list.Disclosure: I received a free copy from Berkl [...]
