    1. Braga is such a cool character and I was so excited about her story! And then I got thisCue disappointmentIt's not only that I disliked the art and I didn't hate it, it's just that it didn't seem to go very well with the story. And said story was all over the place and some things were left completely unsaid (view spoiler)[I mean, Broog was obviously a man, and Braga is obviously a woman. And I am happy that we get a trans character, but What the hell happened there? Do they get sex-change spell [...]

    2. What's not to love about a smart, bold, articulate, trans lady orc who is basically exiled for being a pacifist (and not for being trans)? Rat Queens just keeps getting better and better and I want a hundred more.

    3. 2.5 stars. Kudos for the diversity and Braga's nicely shaped boobs (#nohomo), but all in all it was too short of a story and there was nothing particularly special in it.Except for the title.(Oh funny me.)*hides under a rock*

    4. Moar Braga plz! This was so good, but I'm sad it wasn't collected in the second Rat Queens trade paperback.More and more, it's becoming apparent that the extended cast of characters in this world are more than throwaway novelties or gimmicks. They each have their own interesting backstories. The script is brilliant, funny, and relevant as always.I highly recommend finding this comic and begging Kurtis Weibe to make it more than a one-shot. Braga deserves her own spinoff series entirely.

    5. This is a one shot issue focusing on Braga, an excellent character with a wonderful story. I really enjoyed getting to see her backstory. I can't wait for the Rat Queens to finally come back to me again, although I'm holding off judgement on the new artist until I finally hold issue 9 in my hands.

    6. Pretty good! I loved the first Rat Queens trade paperback and am looking forward to the next as Stjepan Sejic is one of my favourite artists. For now, this Braga special is just fine with me.Braga #1 is pretty cool! It maintains the fun-loving destruction of the main series and includes themes like family, loyalty, and self-identity. One thing I'm very interested in is the potential to delve into a trans character (as "Broog" starts out as a male orc and now appears female, going by "Braga"). Ho [...]

    7. The Braga special issue is excellently done, and it’s refreshing to find a story about a transgender character whose transness is almost incidental to her story. I have a particular love for stories about orcs in general, and this one is wonderfully different while still being very classically orc-story-like. It’s numbered, so I’m looking forward to more Braga stories in the future.Read the full review at SF Bluestocking.

    8. I so loved the first volume of Rat Queens, but I've been waiting for the second trade before reading the rest of the series. However! When I saw this sideline into Braga's backstory, I thought it was safe to pick it up. I didn't notice any spoilers for the current storyline, fyi. The issue is fast and fun and boobilicious. What more can you ask for?

    9. I'm not entirely sure if this is a spin off of some sort or if I messed up my reading of rat queens but this was wonderful, I love the special guest artist and the artwork was beautiful as always. The background story aspect was amazing. Just wish I knew what this was as a whole.

    10. Rat Queens is going through something of a transitional period with the announcement that Stjepan Sejic will be taking over as the series main artist. The why’s and wherefores of this alteration have been alluded to elsewhere but it remains to be seen if the change will serve the Queens as they move forward. For this one shot writer Kurtis J Wiebe is joined by artist Tess Fowler for a story that is tonnes of fun if not a little confusing. The great move by the creation team is though this is a [...]

    11. I don't typically read or review single issues, but this came as part of the Image Comics Humble Bundle that I purchased. I've read the first two volumes in the Rat Queens series, so I was looking forward to reading this one. This was not included in either of those volumes. It is available in the deluxe edition though. The Rat Queens is a sword-and-sorcery series featuring an adventuring group of female protagonists with the same name. This standalone issue is about Braga, who is a member of the [...]

    12. As usual, I have taken far too long to get around to reading something awesome. It was an absolute blast to get to read about Braga, and her backstory had far more to it than I could have anticipated. I really feel a one shot did not do her enough justice here, and I would absolutely love to see a spin off series of her story. Enough to fill one TPB volume, at least. The glimpse of her past was violent, touching, and humourous all at once, and I would love to see a more complete story of who she [...]

    13. it was good but it seemed to wrap up VERY abruptly. I'm assuming they plan on on doing more issues to fill in the gap, but it was done SO choppily i found it very jarring. The content seemed a little short overall too. I DO want to see more happening in this story arc - Braga is an excellent character! And i'm really happy with the fact that the Rat queens have a trans character fleshing out their ranks. (LOVE this series!) I just found the craftmanship of this particular issue was a little less [...]

    14. This came in my Image Comics Humble Bundle, and I read it pretty quickly (less than an hour). I was slightly confused, at first, because I only barely remembered Braga from Rat Queens Volume 1, and didn't remember that she was a trans character, but she's awesome. So smartass. I had the same problems with this as I had with Rat Queens (namely: I like the dialogue alright and the art is nice, but found the pacing to be a little slow.) Also I don't think the Orcs are as sharply drawn as the rest o [...]

    15. I'm a big fan of this series so naturally I picked this issue up when it came out. The one thing i absolutely love is how much the writers like to push the boundaries to make it fun and different than anything else. Can't wait for a continuation

    16. Glad to read that this didn't have any spoilers for the original series, which I haven't been been able to get my hands on yet. Vaguely confused, but I like the artwork (though, I figure it's going to change in the newer comics :/ ) and Braga's backstory is sad :(

    17. Loved Braga's backstory. I still have mixed emotions over recent happenings but right now I'm mostly just happy to have more Rat Queens in my possession and even more excited for Stjepan Šejić's debut with the series!

    18. I was missing the Rat Queens so I decided to pick this one up, and of course it didn't disappoint! We get to see Braga's back story and it's fantastic. If you like Rat Queens you MUST read this special!

    19. This was absolutely a wonderful treat. Braga has such a wonderful story, and it is such a great Trans representation. She is handled so tastefully, and the story itself is just perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend picking this up.

    20. Art = amazing.Story = CoolI'm glad I got to learn a bit more about Braga, she seemed like a very cool person Uh orc.

    21. Nice origin story for Braga, before she was she and had to flee "his" position as true leader of the clan

    22. So, this was good, but not the kind of good I was hoping for. Nice to have some more background on a character, though.

    23. I love this story! Barge's origin story. It's reprinted in the Deluxe Edition (for volumes 1 & 2) as well as in the trade for volume 3.

    24. Wow! Who would have thought, Braga It's nice to have a break and learn about one of the other non-main characters.

    25. Kind of a letdown, because while a trans character is obviously awesome, one would assume if it's Braga's special they might have some sort of mention on her trans journey.

    26. Wow, they aren't afraid to tackle anything. (view spoiler)[ Braga had a sex change, kinda like her better as a chick! (hide spoiler)]
