    1. This may be the least favourite book that I have ever read. Rubacher describes everything in Thailand as being perfect (his catchphrase `Amazing Thailand` sounded so much like the motto for an advertising campaign that I started to wonder if a tourism bureau had sponsored his book). It is the kind of attitude I would expect from someone who had been visiting a new country for maybe a month or so (ie. still in the `honeymoon phase`) but Rubacher claims to have lived in Thailand for something like [...]
