    1. I bought this book with the intention to know about the technologies that will provoke radical change in the next decades and I was not dissapointed. The book covers a wide range of emerging technologies, from local digital manufacturing techniques such as 3D printing to space technologies such as asteroid mining that could provide very critical if our civilization is to survive.

    2. The best book I ever read to date on the near term and long term future of technological development. Christopher Barnatt should be added to the ranks of such luminaries as Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov. The Next Big Thing: From 3D Printing to Mining the Moon is a book I highly recommend to all people interested in Humanity's Long Term Future on this planet and elsewhere in the cosmos.Alex Michael Bonnici
