    1. This is the story of Dr. North, who falls hopelessly in love with a lady, Philippa, and vows to save and protect her when she commits a crime. That is basically it, to say more would probably be to let slip spoilers.This was an okay read. It was full of melodramatic language and seemingly angst-ridden characters and was a little too "flowery " for me. It was written around 1880 and then republished in 1930, but I have to say that it didn't really do much for me. I found myself falling asleep whe [...]

    2. 3 and a half stars.I preferred the first story to the second (parody) one. The first story is about Dr North trying to help the lady he loves. He thinks she has committed a murder and he tries to save her by fleeing the country.I liked the writing style, but felt a bit let down by the ending. It felt rushed.
