    1. The medieval world Lauren Linwood created for her Knights of Valor series is believably entertaining. From diverse characters to emotionally trying circumstances to vivid descriptions, I experienced this period in history where lives are often chaotic and happiness frequently lasts for only a brief time. With unexpected foes battling against those who live by high moral standards, the story captures your full attention and never lets go until every compelling situation plays out. WORD OF HONOR c [...]

    2. The talented author Lauren Linwood has begun a new series, Knights of Valor. Book one is titled Word of Honor, and is begun in 1351 in England, during King Edward’s rule. The Prologue finds our main characters, sixteen-year-old Geoffrey De Montfort and his recently betrothed, thirteen-year-old Merryn vowing love and saying goodbye for a while, as Geoffrey would leave for France to fight for his king. It’s a tender and loving opening, letting everyone know how a rare love match had been made b [...]

    3. Originally posted on my blog: Review: Word of Honor by Lauren LinwoodI read this book in one day. My voracious appetite for the story was surprising, since I haven’t done that in a long time. It was such a heartbreaking beginning that I could sense the foreboding in the first few chapters. Marrying for love and a seemingly HEA early in the story could only mean bad news. My heart went out to both of the main characters in this story. A honorable knight, whose life is forever changed from his d [...]

I love the medieval setting, I am really happy to see more medieval books coming out lately.Merryn and Geoffrey are neighbors and have known each other since they were children. They are betrothed and they are very happy that they will marry each other in the future. At 16, Geoffrey goes to fight in France and spends five years there. While in France, Geoffrey outs a traitor to the king. The traitor's father vows revenge on Geoffrey and his family. When Geo [...]

    5. Vikki’s MusingsI always know I’m in for a treat when I read a book by Lauren Linwood. Whether it’s one of her Medieval romances or her romantic suspense, the book is sure to pull me in and keep me enthralled to the end. Word of Honor does that extremely well, sweeping me into this long ago time with vivid descriptions of the castles and the mores of the day.Merryn and Geoffrey have loved each other since they were little children, but circumstances pull them apart. As a knight, Geoffrey ha [...]

    6. I received this ebook from NetGalley for an honest review. This was a wonderful story of true love winning out in the end. Set in medieval England in the time of King Edward, the story focuses on Merryn and Geoffrey. They have known each other since childhood and loved each other for almost as long. They become betrothed, but marriage has to wait until after Geoffrey returns from war in France, five long years. The couple has remained true to each other and marry on his return. However, after not [...]

    7. Geoffrey de Montfort is a man of honor. He is a knight and possesses all that a knight should.Honor, skill and bravery.Merryn Mantel is a lovely maiden. She possesses all a husband could want. She is beautiful , smart, and not afraid to speak her mind. And she and Geoffrey are in love. They have grown up together and have been promised to each other, by their fathers, for quite some time.Geoffrey must go to war for the King against the French. But he promises Marryn that he will return and marry [...]

    8. At the age of 13, Merryn Mantel and 16 year old Geoffrey de Montfort were betrothed. Childhood friends they were very much in love, but shortly thereafter, Geoffrey left to fight the wars in France for five long years. As soon as he returned they married and spent one blissful night consummating their marriage and planning for their future. However, the very next day on a romantic planned picnic Geoffrey vanishes without a trace. For the next seven years, Merryn grieved until one day she comes u [...]

    9. As I started the journey to be found within the covers of Word of Honor, I was sweetly surprised by the prologue. It all starts with an innocent love between young Merryn and Geoffrey who are betrothed before he heads off to fight for the Black Prince in France. It was a simply sweet way to be introduced to the main characters. As I continued into the meat and potatoes of the book it took me on an incredibly detailed world in a time of upheaval as kings gather their able-bodied men to fight wars [...]

    10. I am having trouble thinking how I can describe this book without giving away too much of the story line. Geoffrey de Montfort and Merryn Mantel have been betrothed since they were children, and both are very happy about it. After the wedding something happens because of Geoffrey's actions in his service to the crown. This will cause years of heartache. Our heroine has a lot to deal with, but is incredibly strong. For a woman to deal with all she does in the era this story is set in, is unusual. [...]

    11. Word of Honor was a good historical romance novel filled with adventure and but I found it to be quite repetitive. I really enjoyed reading this book and being transported back in time with this story. The repetitive nature and the fact that the main character was imprisoned in a dungeon for six years and had no emotional struggles with it when he finally got out are my only complaints. The rest of the book seemed historically accurate and had a great story line. The characters were written very [...]

    12. Word of Honor #1 in a new and exciting Medieval Historical Romance "Knights of Valor" series byLauren Linwood. Fast paced tale of young love, that is torn apart by war, turmoil, and revenge. Can their love last the years apart, to be torn apart again by a vengeful father? The H/H, Merryn Mantel and Geoffrey de Montfort, suffer much, face many challenges and hardships, but can their love last though time and struggles? Will they find their peace and HEA? An emotional tale, with many twists and tu [...]

    13. I really liked this book as it was different from most of the romances that I read. Merry and Geoffrey have been in love with each other for years. They are finally allowed to get married and the next day Geoffrey disappears without a trace. When Geoffrey returns seven years later, he is a completely different man from the one that left. Now Geoffrey and Merryn have to find their way back to each other.I really liked watching these two getting to know each other again. Both have changed because [...]

    14. I loved, loved, loved this story. It caught me by being a story from a historical time that was based on a love match, which was more or less unheard of back then. It kept me by the depth of that love match for two people who have pretty much had no intimate interaction in all that time. I enjoyed seeing Merryn grow up and become the woman we all knew she could be. I was in Geoffrey’s corner from the very beginning. How can you not? He is so humble, giving, loving, and just an all around good [...]

    15. Word of Honor (Knights of Valor Book 1)By Lauren LinwoodReviewed by Jaime KurpI haven’t read a historical that dated in the 1300’s, but I will say after getting over some of the words that were used it turned out to be a really good story. Merryn waited so long to finally marry Geoffrey but then to have him taken from her was hard. She is a very strong women of her time. I really liked that she is a healer. I also liked that you gradually saw the changes with Geofrey when he finally come bac [...]

    16. A wonderful love story, that maintained purity during the duration. Merryn and Geoffrey were childhood sweethearts and their marriage would be a love match. While they were engaged Geoffrey was sent to war, he was a hero however he witnessed treason and it started a dangerous path against a dangerous man who promised vengeance. Geoffrey finally returns and in a few weeks marries Merryn and they have one night together before he disappears for almost 7 years, only to return with no answers for wh [...]

    17. This is the first book in the Knights of Valor series .Merryn Mantel and Geoffrey de Montfort have loved each other for years they get betrothed but then Geoffrey leaves for five years to fight the war in France. When he comes home they are married but the day after the marriage he disappeared for seven years where did he go ? Why will he not talk of what happened? Will they stay together or has time separated them? This was a really good book I am so glad I received it. I received a free copy o [...]

    18. This is a story full of ups and downs. Merryn and Geoffrey have some moments of despair and brutality throughout a life of love. Watching Geoffrey overcome his issues with the help of Merryn's determination and love kept me turning the pages. Just when everything looked rosy, another curve is introduced. I enjoyed the characters, and my heart became engaged in the story as it unfolded. I recommend this story and look forward to more in this series.I received a copy of this book through Candid Bo [...]

    19. This was my first book that I've had the pleasure of reading by Lauren Linwood and I have to say that it was phenomenal ! It had intrigued me so much that I had to finish it . Merryn and Geoffrey's wedding day came and went with nothing but bliss , what followed was plain torture for Geoffrey and anguish for Merryn. One mans evil machinations tore them apart I highly recommend Lauren Linwood's books to everyone . I received this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

    20. This is the first book in the Knights of Valor series and a new author for me to read. Geoffrey is a Knight of the finest order in demonstrating his honor, dignity and commitment to his family. Merryn believes in love and that her knight will return to her even after separation. The road is rocky on their journey to love through strife, intrigue and suspense. Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks.

    21. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is an engrossing saga of traitors, revenge, love and honor. What Geoffrey is put through for catching a traitor is horrific. After waiting patiently for 5 years Merryn and Geoffrey finally start their life together, only to have it torn from them. I couldn't put this down, I had to find out what happened next.

    22. This was a great read. It's good to read about a woman who will stick by her man no mater what happens. These 2 have loved each other since they were kids. That's a love that can last a lifetime. The sex was great too, very hot. I don't want to give too much away of the story line. I want the reader to read the review and get excited about wanting to read the book.

    23. Take this book to the beach - it’s light-hearted fare makes a great read in the sun with a cool drink near at hand.Read full review in the 2016 June issue of InD'tale Magazine.
