    1. Submission Backstory: Memoir of a BDSM Authoress is a unique and imaginative tale that chronicles the entrée of a thirty-something professional woman into the BDSM community via a brief fling with a charming younger man. While it has ample conflict and plot, it is the wonderfully erotic sensual BDSM scenarios that make this a memorable read for me. And the good news is that there is every indication that this book will spawn sequels and/or spin-offs so that the kinky small town of Brooke’s Ho [...]

    2. I really enjoy erotica that manages to be hot and tell an interesting story, this book does that very well. Characters are well developed and interesting The scenes are well set and nicely described. The reading performance is outstanding and adds greatly to the sexiness of the story.

    3. I began writing this book as an attempt to spin-off from my first two works, Their Wild Little Girl and Their Meddling Aunt. It began, simply, as a short story to set the stage for a series of non-sequential stories centered around the town and the community but it became a fantastic story in its own right. I've never written an entire story from a single character perspective so this was an interesting challenge. I ended up really identifying with Alyssa as I wrote her and I'm fairly certain sh [...]

    4. Alyssa is a lifestyle journalist who's on the road to cover a story about Elisabeth who mysteriously reappeared after having been missing for years. In the hotel Alyssa is staying at, she comes across David. This is an attractive, confident 21-year-old. One thing leads to another, and David promises her a story that might be even more compelling than the Elisabeth tale. In David's opinion, however, he deems it better the journalist should experience for herself, the scope of actions he wants to [...]

    5. This was a really interesting read! First let me say if you haven't read the author's book, Their Wild Little Girl, you're going to be confused about what several things in this book (not to mention missing out on a really good book). This book is told from the POV of Alyssa K--a lifestyles columnist out on assignment to interview Elizabeth, a girl lost in the jungle for 20 years and recently found and brought back to the US (Their Wild Little Girl). While she waits to get a one-on-one interview [...]

    6. I absolutely loved it. I loved the connection to the author's other two stories and that this story can still stand on its own. There's that nosey part of me that likes to know what's going on with everyoned everyone has a story. The scenes and characters were well developed (not many authors can pull that off in a short story/novella). Alyssa tells us about her first experiences with BDSM and adultery. I thought she was adorable and I found myself blushing along with her. David's seduction of A [...]

    7. It is kind of hard when reading BDS [...]

    8. This story intertwines with the author’s other book “Their Wild Little Girl”. This short companion novella follows reporter Alyssa K as she waits for her assigned interview with said wild little girl, “Elizabeth” and her caretakers Marcus and Jessica. As Alyssa awaits her turn she has the opportunity of a lifetime to get some gossip from someone who actually grew up in the town of the mansion that Marcus and Jessica are living in with Elizabeth. All she has to do in return is give him [...]

    9. I thoroughly enjoyed this book with the exception of the lesbian scene which is not my thing but did not let it affect my rating. This is the second erotica book I have read and Shawna has given me another demonstration of how circumstances and, in this case, a dull marriage can lead to the discovery within our inner selves of who we really are sexually speaking.

    10. Stunning introduction into Alyssa's worldLoved the orientationAlyssa and KenMarriedMarking timeHer schedule leads her to David and Jane - an old colleague Beautiful descriptions of her introduction in her BDSM world as a submissiveFive starsSo well crafted

    11. Not what i was expecting What can I say really, I thought this book would be longer and have more in it.I like how the story was written but think there could have been a lot more detail in it .Thanks Shawna

    12. This is my first book by Shawna Hunter and I truly enjoyed it. Backstories are always interesting to me on how people came to their A HA moment. Alyssa K is a lifestyles journalist looking for something new. She was sure what that was until she met David. She starts to see things differently and realizes what it is that the "new" is.

    13. When can I read more of this story?!?!?!? I loved it except for 2 minor things… It starts with Alyssa, a lifestyle reporter, who travels to a hotel in New York. She is to interview a woman (Elizabeth) who disappeared 20 years ago. Her plane had crashed and she was the only survivor. Elizabeth’s life is compared to a modern day Tarzan tale. Here is where I have my first issue. This part of the story line just seemed out of place in the for me. It didn’t flow as smoothly as the rest of the s [...]

    14. This book was provide by Wordwooze Publishing and read on behalf of Thorns & Ink.Reinvention and self-discovery. They can happen over days, months, or years. It seems more often that it happens in the “blink” of an eye. For Alyssa it happened over the course of a weekend. She was suffering from boredom in her home life. It is something we all suffer from. Boredom can inspire change. You may not recognize it consciously; subconsciously the changes are happening. I picture Alyssa to be in h [...]

    15. This was my first book by Shawna Hunter and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only complaint (and it is a minor one) is that our h in the story seemed to move into some sexual situations rather quickly. (view spoiler)[ There is a lesbian encounter involving the heroine. She jumps right into a first time same sex experience for reasons that seemed a bit contrived. The f/f was done with taste as was the entire book.(hide spoiler)] The quick actions by our h did not take away from my reading enjoyment. I [...]
