    3. This is a sequel to Thereoux's earlier New Yorker short story, which I haven't read. As a stand alone piece, it's the typical large family dysfunction.     4. 2.5 stars. It started off really funny, but too much of the same humor for too long does not increase ones enjoyment of a novel. Slick development at the end.
