    1. First I absolutely love the cover!!!Second I loved the plot I did not love the writing style and the story dragged on for like forever and some more.

    2. 4 starsI was looking forward to this book for a while, I've been following it on Facebook. Did I love it? No, but I really liked it. I loved the M/C's, and the secondary characters also. The storyline was good and the setup for future books was well covered, maybe too much for one couple, so I'm assuming they will either be a novella or won't get a book at all, actually now I think about it there is graham also. On a personal note, I hate waiting, so whatever is going on with Rhett is driving me [...]

    3. **2.5 Stars**Phew. I skimmed the last 10% becauseI was exhausted and just over this couple. This book unfortunately did not work for me.This book is nearly 400 pages and compared to most MM books, that is about 150 pages too much. This one could have used the cut.Overall, I was curious about this author. I have had conversations with her several times and she is a sweetheart. And for a first time novel, this one had some good stuff and definitely set the stage for future stories. But there is no [...]

    5. First Hello hot cover!! Simon is a rancher with a law degree at 30 and is ready to settle down. While he works with his family, they all seem to have degrees in something else as well as run their ranch and I assume they’ll all get a story, but this one is Simon’s. While this is a cute story and a bit long it’s still cutesy given that these boys both take to one another right away. Sean is a well known architect, in business with his brother Jasper. Jasper, I wasn’t a fan of in the begin [...]

    6. 3.5 StarsThis is a new-to-me author so it's always exciting picking up a new book from an author you've never read before. When I read the blurb it just sounded like it was going to be an interesting read. I'm glad I took the chance on it as I adored Simon and Sean. I love how the author started the build up on their relationship. As much as I adored this couple and would have liked to give this a better rating, I think that Taylor Rylan could have added more details and/or just more in general [...]

    7. Absolutely awesomeYou nailed it for me. Your first book checked all of my boxes. I couldn't put it down. So many different characters to write other books for. I REALLY hope this is going to be a long series. So looking forward to next book. Hope it's not too long a wait. You did good.

    8. When you least expect it.Sean is ready to settle down. His twin Jasper is the wild twin, hoping from man to man. Simon has hit thirty and while not opposed to going to a club, he too is ready to settle down. He runs a ranch with his family. One night while at the club he spies a very good looking man. A man who seems to have found someone for the night. Disappointed, he heads home. The next morning he has meetings with architects to plan a new arena. The next morning not only does he see the man [...]

    9. Ok the story was good butNo one likes a story that's told to them with no "real time". I want to read the story while it's happening and be a part of it. Minimal dialogue which was frustrating. Poor Liam only had one line in the whole bookwe were left wondering to outside events which we now know will be repeated over and over as each brother gets his story. Already scenes were duplicated because we heard from Sean and we would hear it in the next chapter to have Simon re-tell it. I will go to t [...]

    10. This was a solid 2.I am a fan of MM. I have read some incredible MM books lately, so I suppose I had high hopes trying out this (new to me) author. Clearly, I wasn't overly impressed. The writing needs work. The way some of her sentences are formed is just painful. For example, at the 28% mark - " a fact that it took an honest effort and I really appreciated his efforts. There was no way I was going to take that for granted because I knew it meant he was honestly giving it an effort."The actual [...]

    11. The book started out very strong; I really enjoyed the initial heat between the characters. The issue for me, where the author lost me, was when she skipped several months between the first date and meeting the parents/moving in. That's a really vital emotional build; it was described rather than experienced. I think part of why the (dragged out) wedding in the second half of the book felt so lengthy was because of this; the reader didn't make enough of the emotional journey of building the rela [...]

    12. I fell hard for Simon and Sean. This is the story of Sean and Simon.Sean is a man who has decided that he is over the club scene and is ready to find a man to have a relationship with.Simon is a man who has no problems still going out to the club to have a good time but he has been thinking lately that he is ready for more. Simon's family hires Sean and his brother's architect firm to help with a project on their ranch and while Sean has no intention of getting involved with a client Simon has o [...]

    13. To muchFirst half of the book is 4 stars but the last half is 2 stars making this a 3 star story. It's to bad the author tried to throw so much into the second half because this started off as a great story about Simon and Seand the wonderful people around them. Then it got a little convoluted with a kidnapping and a wedding and mysterious relationship and blackmail. I personally think the second half was just the authors way of setting up his next three or four books in the series. Could have b [...]

    14. Couldn't finish itI'm sorry but I just couldn't finish the book. It was really good until about the half way point, then for some reason the author pretty much starts a new book about another couple. I think this book should have ended around the scene at Christmas then maybe a couple of chapters wrapping up their relationship and setting up the next book. I would have liked to have read Rhett's story but too much of it was told in this book. I think it would be too long and drawn out like this [...]

    15. I wanted to like itBut I bailed at about 30%. I couldn’t get over the dialogue. It wasn’t natural and trying to claim he was talking proper because of his English father was a stretch at best. It really just seemed to be an excuse for bad dialogue. I’ve read books where characters have accents and no one has attempted to do it this way. It just pulled me out of the story to much to enjoy.

    16. Well now I have two new guys to add to my favorite list. Simon and Sean's story was beautiful. They have both come to a point in their life where they want a partner. Both are tired of hook ups and weird mornings. Someone to love and cherish. Someone to come home to and share their day. When a business meeting puts the two together, sparks fly. They both fall hard for each other, but there are still some bumps in the road along the way.EditDelete

    17. Wonderful storyII enjoyed this story for the most part. Sean & Simon were cute. For some reason I didn't really enjoy the bachelor party and the wedding seemed to be all about sex instea of their relationship. But I still can't wait to read the others in the series - especially with the cliffhanger at the end of this book.

    18. This was pretty good. It's a new author to me. A lot happens and I'm not good at writing a summary of what happens. I did love Simon and Sean together. They were hot and too sweet together. Loved both of their families. Some heavy things are in here. Don't want to spoil it. Looking forward to reading the second in the series.

    19. I found this book a bit hard to keep my concentration. I liked the idea of the story but not so much the actual writing unfortunately. IMO the saying of each others names in every sentence to each other constantly was a bit much. It's probably just me but I don't use my husbands name in every sentence when talking to him.

    20. This is how you start a series. You've got this great romance with Simon and Sean plus you have the groundwork for more stories to come. Between the brothers, cousins, and Sean' s parents' guys on their security firm you not only have a bunch for this series but you can even see another branching off. I can't wait to read more from Taylor Rylan.

    21. DNF At 56 % I finally gave up. I wanted to like this story. The writing style was not for me. The dialogue was more explaining than conversations between the MC. I liked that the author used Native American heritage as the main characters. Although, it was hard to overlook the flaws in their character development.

    22. Not sure what this story was about. While Ms Rylan is very discriptive, the plot was rather thin. If this was a love story she seemed to fly past the build up, making it hard to believe the characters. There is lots of potential, just not a lot of development.

    23. Sweet read!!I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet read with great characters. At times I feel it went on a bit too much but all in all it was a great read and a great start to what I'm sure will be a wonderful series. Out had a great introduction to many characters.

    24. Great Introduction. This book was my introduction to this author and I was impressed. I enjoyed the introduction of Sean and Simon’s families. There was a lot of suspense I was not expecting. I can’t wait to read the next book.

    25. Interesting new seriesGreat start to the series. Simon and Sean are hot, sexy men who meet, fall in love and get married in the midst of a sh@#$t tonne of crap that gets flung at both their families. Great storytelling that holds your attention from start to finish.

    26. Great book!Loved the start of this series so much totally already purchased next three books to binge read this week. The characters are fantastic, storylines totally realistic and absolutely got in the bedroom too!

    27. I was hesitant to start it but once I did I'm glad I did, couldn't put it down. love the main characters , their story building godfather, family and all that. . I hoping for more books to come out soon

    28. Need More!!!Super good, can already tell I'm going to love all the main characters in this series and already hoping for a spin off of a certain protection variety😃😃

    29. Fabulous Simon and Sean were sweet, adorable, and hot together. I loved the strong family dynamic. And I cannot wait for more from the Crooked Bend guys.
